To say that Namco's Tales of series is wildly popular in Japan would be a grave understatement, failing to hint at how eagerly RPG fans snap up the latest iterations like Pac-Man gobbles up pellets. The last game in the series to make it to US shores was Tales of Symphonia, which to many RPG-starved Gamecube gamers, was a lot like one of the BIG pellets in Pac-Man's maze. Of course, after the initial surge of energy, Nintendo fans are back to searching high and low for news on Namco's next big epic (since Tales of Legendia and Tales of the Abyss are PS2-exclusive).Well, there's a vague possibility that the DS may see a new entry in Namco's successful series. Four new titles have been trademarked by Namco: Tales of Tempest, Tales of Two Faiths, Tales of Howling, and Tales of Doom Sign. At this point, our far-fetched conclusions point to either Two Faiths or Doom Sign being clever names for DS games. Yeah, that's a bit of a stretch, but even the Xenosaga series has a DS version in the works. What do you guys think? Does this reek of desperation?
