A Nintendo forum reader writes: "Last night I was looking at a few temp tattoos that I got at IGN live a few weeks ago and I got the idea to put one on my DS. I got a damp (DAMP not soaked) cloth and transferred it to the top of my DS then put it under a lamp to heat it up and melt it on a little... It doesn't come off when I put it in my pocket but I am sure it will rub off one day."
If you've grown tired of the plain ole silver DS, just add a tattoo (at your own discretion of course).

Maybe you could spray something like fixative to lessen the wear on it?

Just like to point out that I did that to my DS on November 8th and it hasn't rubbed off yet so it seems pretty solid. It has attracted a little dirt though.

I have a piece of camo duct tape all the way around my DS. I love the way it looks.

And its duct tape, so it'll NEVER come off. :D

You can also buy a skin from DecalGirl.com for a few bucks if you want something more professional...

Nice, I have a tartan sticker on my DS, I was considering taking mine apart and custom painting it like those G-Unit camo ones I saw, But I'm no pro, so I'll stick with just a sticker.. seems to be the way forward after seeing J Allard's xbox covered in skate sticker's he clearly doesn't wear on the weekend.
Europeans will have to judging the ammount of love we're getting as far as DS colours are concerned, we didn't even get the hot rod red DS, we got a silver one with a cardboard mariokart sleeve around the original box. Tasteful..
