Will the DS work with Nintendo's upcoming Revolution?

If there is anything Nintendo fans have in abundance, it would be in the form of Revolution rumors and speculation. Some top-level company execs have hinted that we still do not know everything regarding the next-gen console, and many believe another "secret" is still under wraps. Enter the Nintendo DS.

Could the DS somehow be involved in all the speculation? Maybe the two could play together, wirelessly? Post any ideas and/or retorts in the comments.

1. I could see how they might use it for classic games, since it has all the buttons for NES/SNES.

I could also see them using it in a party game, where one player gets a sole DS and gets a clue and must draw it... like a Pictionary game...

I think I'm gonna send that idea to Nintendo.

2. Step 1. Turn on your Revolution console with no game in the bay. Make sure that you have an Official Nintendo USB Dongle connected to a PC or Laptop Computer connected to the internet, or are within distance of a Compatible Nintendo Wi-Fi Hotspot when downloading classic games from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Service.

Step 2. Turn on all Nintendo DS units being used for DS Download Play. Make sure all systems remain the DS main menu and have Memory Paks inserted into the GBA slot.

Step 3. Fom the Revolution Home Screen, Choose Virtual Console. If you have downloaded or uploaded any classic games they will be displayed here. Also, any unlockale Choose any game and press the A button. A menu opens, choose Download Play.

Step 4. A dialog box will open.

__________________________________________________

"Please Press DS Download Play on your DS Touch Screen(s). Do not turn off the power to the

Revolution or any DS unit."

Step 5.

After the download is complete, the Revolution will return to the Home Screen and the DS unit(s) will reset. Do not remove the DS Memory Pak during this time. The classic game has now been saved to the Memory Pak and it has been modified to play on the Nintendo DS. The Memory Pak is only compatible with the Nintendo DS.

Notes: When playing NES games, the Y and X buttons can also be used as the B and A buttons, respectively. The DS Touch Screen will display the classic design art of the NES controller, including virtual Start and Select Buttons. Either the hardware or software buttons can be used. The top screen will be used for gameplay only.

When playing SNES games, the Nintendo DS Touch Screen will emulate the design art of the SNES controller, including virtual Start and Select Buttons. Either the hardware or software buttons can be used. The top screen will be used for gameplay only.

Due to the recoding archetecture of the technology, and the hardware limitations*, N64 games are unable to play on NDS.

Also, there ought to be a quick search at boot, when looking for Wi-Fi, the Revolution should use the NDS system in every respect as a viable I/O device. I mean, upload pokemon, pick a private play in Madden 07, place a security camera in Splinter Cell, call Meryl ( and occordingly the sound chimes and you can use the touch screen to call specific numbers but its just an idea, Kojima might unretire cause I said this).

But yes, the NDS, that is the true revolution. MWAHAHAHAHAA!

3. Also, after doing a little snooping around, i learned that the redux of the ds, will carry a similar aesthetic to that of the revolution.

So I would love to see the touch screen used as: buzzers, secret messages, code entry, could be connected to the remote for alternative play control, ooh! ooh! maybe when you point to a target on screen, then the gameplay context converts it to the DS screen, akin to a tricorder (or pop-up, would work great for the reformed Myst team), and with the new Star Trek Online......and Reggie's interest in MMo's..hmm. Custom Gameplay configuration FOR EVERY GAME EVER.

But....Will there be audio communication device for multiplayer games...as in a microphone? Hint, hint.(DSpeak) Amazing Island...Magic Pengel, and of course, as soon as the Mario Paint DS Comes out. Which will most likely be June. Comes with Pictochat 2.0, and maybe it'll be wifi as long as you have friend codes...but friend codes aren't very personal, maybe something less lemme find a pencil. What's the point of playing people online if you cant communicate! I could play with bots and not be so embarrased. PLEASE Nintendo, I used that awesome headset in MAY!!!! MArio n Luigi 2 is out!!! More R&D?!?!idk.

Also off subject....Nintendo being the king of all things gimmicky...er..extra-ordinary, shouldn't there be a Wifi Webcam or something? Or are they the one's thinking it wouldn't be right to take someone else's idea? Also...if Super Mario isn't Wi-fi....I will

just, just, .....underutilize my wireless router.
