Metroid Prime Hunters: Do we still care?

MetroidWith all the new details now hitting the interweb regarding the oft-delayed, yet beloved, Metroid Prime Hunters, I find myself asking a fundamental question: do I still care? Afterall, I've been playing the demo since the stroke of midnight on launch day (thanks Wal-Mart!). I watched as new potential release dates came and went. And I kept playing the demo. I read each new bit of development news and rumor. And I kept playing the demo.

Now I have no desire to play the demo. In fact, I kinda get a sinking feeling whenever I come across the game/demo in my collection -- it's a strange mix of disappointment at not having really played the game combined with the fatique of feeling that I've played too much of it.

How about you? Do you still care?

1. yes, i care... but only for the multiplayer wifi, and i am very annoyed with nintendo's lack of support for wpa encryption along with lack of support for macs with its wifi adapter. metroid is fun, but not worth this wait. i will only buy this game if it becomes really popular.

2. Then don't play the demo so much, silly. ;p

I'm hyped about it! It's been long enough since I played MP2 and I'm hungry for more Samus! (that comment could be construed to mean something else, heh)

3. Actually, I think that my own thirst for samus has been slaked, and I actually wish the franchise was given a bit of a cool down period for me to get excited again. I kinda feel like the demo was like a bad version of the Prime games, and never really took off on my DS. I hope/know the finished product will be way more polished, and I'm absolutely fine with it taking awhile. Isn't there plenty to play right now anyways? I burn though my battery as it is, with all the online stuff, and find that I haven't even had time to finish THAW or give Viewtiful Joe another go around, and I still want Sonic Rush. As far as I'm concerned, save Metroid 'til summer, maybe by then I'll have played Electroplancton, Trauma Center, Phoenix Wright, re-finished Castlevania, caught all the bugs/fish in Animal Crossing, become bored of MKDS, given TH the time it deserves...catch my drift?

4. I'm definately hyped about it. Main reson is playing mario kart Online is amazing though only 4 players kinda dissapoints but still fun. Metroid online on the DS, how good will that be!!

7. I personally am pumped about the game. I took the wait and see approach to the Nintendo DS to see if anything besides Metroid would come out that I wanted to play. Now that it's been a year, I will be getting a DS. When it comes to Metroid, I only played the demo once so I wouldn't burn out on it before the real game launched.

Metroid is still my favorite series.

8. I kind of know what you mean but I was never too thrilled with the demo anyway. I thought it was only really fun as a multiplayer. I really hope there are improvements but I'm mostly looking forward to the wifi play. The only DS game I (surprisingly) never get sick of is Trauma Center.

9. I would really like to see a WiFi game that can handle more than 4 players, plus some kind of presence awareness. The addition of those two things would make WiFi feel just about perfect.

As for Meteroid Prime Hunters, I played very little of the demo. I'm sure after a year and a half of work, the graphics are changed, the gameplay has changed some. I doubt that the final will be a lot like the demo.

10. I'm still excited. We played the MP2 multiplayer in my house for weeks. The only reason I don't play it anymore is because there's no online support. That's really the only reason I still play Halo 2 for. There's always new challengers, at any time of the day or night.

Personally, I think MP2 multiplayer was more fun than Halo 2. The morphball runs made all the difference. MPH has the potential to be the best multiplayer FPS available for a portable. Well, actually, it probably will be the best portable FPS. Sony has yet to produce a decent FPS game on the PSP or the PS2.

Hopefully the Revolution will get Metroid Prime 3 and have online multiplayer, though I hate the fact that it will be wireless only.

Now if someone would just get Aliens vs Predator 3 already...we'd be all set. I might actually use my PC for gaming in that case.
