More new DS information headed our way?

Reggie

N-sider.com has some speculation concerning a potential new wave of Nintendo DS and Revolution info headed our way.

Their primary evidence seems to be based on the number of executive level presentations that Nintendo has scheduled between now and E3:
  • Lean, mean marketing machine, Reggie Fils-Aime, will be presenting key Nintendo strategies at DICE on February 9
  • Nintendo has scheduled an additional Nintendo Lite DS press conference on February 15
  • There are strong rumors that Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, will have a speaking slot at the upcoming GDC in San Jose on March 20
There's definitely a lot of opportunity there for nintendo to announce new information, but would they give us any real information prior to stealing the show at E3? Or is this just a series of thought-leadership appearances for the big N, simply aimed at reinforcing what they've been saying over the past few months regarding "opening up the market to new gamers?"

As always, DS Fanboy has an opinion, but we're going to keep this one to ourselves. We all know what happened last time we tried to show the world that we were smarter than Nintendo.

1. You need to remember that Nintendo has an "N" not an "n". :p

The DS info could probably involve stuff about the DS Lite and maybe new features that will utilize WFC. Of course, I'm sure new games will be shown; some that demonstrate the possibility of innovation and then others that are just plain awesome.

As for Revolution, don't expect to play any new games, but put your hopes up for tech demos and game footage. What other info can they really release without taking away that desire we have saying, "We want to know what its like to play!"

I'm no expert though, so don't quote me on anything. =)

2. All I want is details about playing old system games on the Revolution. Will they cost as much as the NES Classic Series for GBA? How will the Super Nintendo controller map to the Revolution control scheme? I want to be playin' some Super Punch-Out!!!

Are there any hard facts out there about this feature?

3. I hope they anounce that the DSl has WiFi Pico-chat or some kind of VoIP at one of these events.

4. Keeping my fingers crossed for a DS firmware upgrade (wifi pictochat, VoIP, Nintendo Homepage...COME ON!)
