Tetris DS wifi page up

Though the game won't launch until March 20, Nintendo has already begun the prepping for puzzle wifi madness with a dedicated Tetris wifi page. From the article: "Log on with Tetris DS and dig in for some puzzling head-to-head action via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. When you're ready to take a break from your block battles, come to the Tetris DS gaming hub and see how you rank against other players."

Not a lot new here, rather a heads up regarding the pending service and reminder that the game is a mere 21 days away. Let the sweet Russian music prevail.

[Thanks, Nushio]

1. Eh... No russian music will be in the game. All classic Nintendo stuff.

2. This was the only game I ever played 2 player on the original (1st) gameboy. I just tried this new one at Nintendo World Store, and it's everything you remember and I'm sure there's much more than I discovered on the little free demo you can download. I didn't even try to see if I could go wifi with the demo. I'll try to stop by there again tomorrow.
What else is there to say. I think you already know if you want to buy this game or not. I'm a puzzle nut so there's no way I'm not getting it.

3. 1. Metroid: "Link wirelessly with up to three friends..."

So either Nintendo blew it, or the DS is a piece of crap (and I don't mean to offend you fanboys, I want one as much as you) that can't handle more than 4 players at a time... which is it? I'd go for the first one, but you tell me.

4. Well, you DO have to understand that there aren't many portable FPSs with an online structure, and while I understand your concern it's not really a big factor. Quake 3's an example, known to be very good in 1on 1 matches.

5. Hopefully there is a way to search worldwide for 1v1 matches...because thats where the real skill is.

6. #1,

They aren't using Korobeiniki or other familiar Tetris stuff, but they also aren't only using Nintendo songs. Quote from the 1UP preview:

"The Tchaikovsky tunes have been abandoned in favor of other public-domain standards and, much more satisfyingly, remixes of NES themes that accompany the current visual theme."
(Source: http://1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3148117)

Maybe they'll scrounge up something just as catchy. Maybe, but I'd probably be more interested in the remixes.

@3,

This doesn't have anything to do with Metroid.

Secondly, you copied that post from your comment on Joystiq (You even left in the post number.) And in that thread you spouted some nonesense about 100 vs. 100 online multyplayer on the Xbox.

The DS has only been out for 16 months. Wifi games have only been around for 4 months. No one expects a game to push the system at its launch.

I've never had a problem playing with four people online in Mario Kart. So even if the DS is incapable of much more, most people are more than happy with that.

If you have a problem, buy a relatively cheap dev kit and make your own 12v12 or 16v16 or 100v100 FPS game. Good luck.
