Breaking the heart of the original DS

This is what happens when the first born child learns to deal with a new baby in the family. The original DS is no different. Honestly though, do any readers plan on eBaying their original DS?

[Thanks, Rik]

1. Dose anyone know what song is used in this video clip?
I love it.

2. I believe it is by MUM - a great icelandic band. I will have to hunt down the track name tomorrow though. They are GREAT though, check them out. If I'm wrong, then it would have to be sigur ros... I just know I listened to it a bunch a couple years ago.

If that commercial's not official, nintendo should just buy it up and put it on tv.

3. It is definitely MUM. Song title is "Green Grass of Tunnel". I tried downloading some of Mum's music but couldn't find it. In the end, I bought 3 of their CDs via iTunes. Yes they are that good.

4. wow ds lite is garbage, ill never get rid of my original.

5. I'm not getting rid of my DS. In fact I got mine less than a year ago so I'm probably going to wait for the next incarnation after the lite. They claim to already be working on it.
If they really want to sell allot of them here, nintendo needs to start doing what sony does and make these things so flimsy they break as soon as the warranty is up. Nintendo portables can be dropped, flushed, and even melted (go to the Nintendo World Store and see) and they still work. I hope they continue to make them as sturdy but they could probably make more money if they didn't. If they really wanted to be d***s they could overcharge us for everything too.

6. My old, heavy DS Fat will be on eBay today. :)

7. are you joking? this is the ds on which i formed a life-long friendship with static the squirrel. this is the ds on which i saved dozens of people's lives from a GUILT pandemic. this is the ds on which i rescued kirby from a horrendous curse. i could never part with it.

and also, who wants an unsightly gba cartridge sticking out all the time???? not me.

8. I can't get rid of it...the girlfriend already asked with excitement if she can have my old DS when I get the Lite. I said, "Only if it doesn't work with homebrew".

Otherwise, I'll gladly get rid of it and either use the money towards the DS Lite purchase, a 360 game, or *gasp* a used PSP.

9. What if you don't have any gba games and don't plan to get any?

10. I feel for that DS. People don't get rid of your old DS just because his little brother lost weight! I mean we didn't do that to Mario when Luigi arrived on the scene.... or did we?

11. Damn, I thought I was going to be the cool guy letting everybody know what the song is. It appears I've been beaten to the punch. M?s a great band, everybody should check them out.

12. Thanks Aaron and matt. You guys rock.
Oh and Aaron your art rocks faces off.

13. The lady is getting my DS El Gordo, she already has been wearing it out w/ animal crossing anyway =)

14. I'd only get rid of my DS if i knew the DSlite would have better wireless reception

15. I just got my DS 2 months ago, I already want DS lite.
Your right about the durability factor. My DS got thrusted to the concrete yesterday and only got knicked.
My SP has the same exact battle scars, Nintendo plastic is almost as good as their games. But yeah, DS incarnation #3 will be a must buy also. I'm sure it ain't too far off either. I want my DS and Revolution to match,so I guess I just have to keep buying whatever Nintendo tells me to.

16. Of course I'll be keeping my original DS. The release of the Lite is simply a great excuse to own two of them. While I don't necessarily plan on buying two copies of games, DS download play makes it possible to get in on some multiplayer action with friends who don't own the portable.

19. I love m?nd all, but really, I don’t think the song fits the video. Maybe because that song conjures so many other images for me (I recommend listening to the album, finally we are no one, with your eyes closed). Anyway it’s good to see new m?ans; most people get turned off when they hear the vocals.

Posted at 3:55PM on Mar 4th 2006 by Clu

20. Oh!
i forgot to say the i do, however, think that m?in general, really does suit the DS, in general.
