With March in full swing, it's finally time for Nintendo to begin placing mysterious, oblong structures in various game stores spread across the North American continent. Emitting undetectable Wi-Fi beams, these innocuous-looking kiosks promote a very subtle form of mind control, implanting the desire to move closer, switch on your DS and download trial versions of "fun" upcoming games. There's no telling how many hours and relationships may be lost to this devious scheme. In the interest of public safety, we must locate each and every one of these so-called download stations (Japanese version pictured to the right). It is with this goal in mind that we call on you, our astute readers, to help us track these monstrous devices down and warn other readers of the potential dangers that lurk within their nearest shopping complex. The task is simple: If you spot a DS download station in your area, send us the location or, even better, a picture of the beast as it whirs discreetly in the used games section. Please make use of our tips form to submit the information.
Once the sightings start rolling in, we'll post a weekly update (more frequently if required) informing you of the latest discoveries and their locations. Keep an eye out and above all, be careful out there. We can't afford to lose more souls to that Tetris DS demo.

You should do one of those mappy things you can do. I forget the site, but Joystiq did it for XBOX360 kisosks last fall.

I went to the Nintendo World Store on Sunday, and I played every demo they had. It was pretty cool. I liked how fast it was, and the great stuff that came out of it. One of my friends that was a sony fanboy completely converted over and is now searching for a DS Lite after he saw the demo's and I let him play some of my games, and 2 other female friends are getting the revo and a DS because of the download station in the NWS. I guess nintendo was doing something right.

Is there a way to download the demos online? I remember someone created a program that let their router host the Meteos demo. I can't remember where I saw that. Nintendo really should let people host demos from their own computers.

Why does this Kiosk have an original DS attached to it instead of the DS lite?

@2 - I expected that the kiosks would be USA only as well, as all the info I saw mentioned USA only stores (Target, Gamestop, etc) as locations. I emailed Nintendo for confirmation of my fears and was pleased to learn that we should be getting kiosks in Canadian Best Buy stores. I expect that EB Games and other retailers will follow.

Keep in mind too that the kiosk at the nintendo world store isn't an actual physical kiosk in the store.
You just walk in and download.

My Best Buy in Austin, TX just got the kiosk.
I think all best buys are probably getting them.
It's nothing that stands out, just a small banner and a plain old DS that allows you to Download and play if you didn't bring your own.
