Some Doctor: Brain Age is good, but don't get fat

According to an article over at Gamasutra, Nintendo is adding some more marketing push to Brain Age: Train your Brain in Minutes a Day in the form of Dr. Elizabeth Zelinski, dean and executive director of Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California. Her smarty-pants opinion on Brain Age:

"Nintendo's Brain Age should be just one element of an active lifestyle that includes mental stimulation, exercise and a good diet. Brain Age is a great way for people to keep challenging themselves."

That's right. You could train yourself on Brain Age for hours a day until you become a hyper-intelligent supergenius, but if you don't exercise and eat healthily, you'll become an obese hyper-intelligent supergenius. And as anyone will tell you, that's the worst kind.

1. Gee, this game's only been out for a day and already doctors are giving their reviews.

2. Yep, because we know that all obese geniuses become James Bondian supervillains.

5. can't you only play for 15mins a day? (not sure how true this is, but i am sure i heard it somewhere)

6. I picked up Brain Age yesterday and I like it a lot. Sure, I was "done" within an hour, or less, even when playing a few Sudoku games, but for $20 I think this has a very large staying power. I am a statistics whore, so being able to see my progress over the period of TWO MONTHS makes me giddy.

Also, the implementation of sudoku is mind blowing, I couldn't imagine playing sudoku any other way.

7. I have brain age. I think its going to be a hit in the states.

One Complaint...
When I'm being tested on my brain age the ds has trouble recognizing the word "Blue". So when a blue word comes up and I say "blue" the DS reads "Try Again". This is very frustrating because it then gives me a brain age of 79.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

8. Maybe they should have this doctor help them make a physical exercise game for the DS.
Wouldn't that be fun? An arobics game for the chicks and a weight training game for the guys.

Don't ask me how it'd work but I'm hoping it'd be better than that workout thing for the ps2.

9. This game is going to change the world. The next generation will be able to add and finish Sudoku puzzles in record time. I hope I am alive to see these fat super geniuses cure cancer and end world hunger.

10. I'm gonna make separate profiles for when I'm sober, high & drunk.
