Though it's devoid of the actual numbers we know and love, the NPD group has released a list of the top 20 best-selling US games for the merry month of March. The list isn't terribly exciting, but it does reveal a shocking and unspeakable truth about Nintendo gamers. They've been purchasing copies of Metroid Prime: Hunters and Super Princess Peach, playing the games in grimy alleys, their depraved faces lit up only by the flicker of two LCD screens. All that for a shameful heroine fix.The Top 20 best-selling titles for March according to NPD:
- Kingdom Hearts II (PS2)
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (360)
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360)
- Black (PS2)
- MLB 06: The Show (PS2)
- Fight Night Round 3 (PS2)
- Black (Xbox)
- The Godfather: The Game ( PS2)
- Fight Night Round 3 (360)
- God of War (PS2)
- Metroid Prime: Hunters (DS)
- Sonic Riders (GCN)
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2)
- Super Princess Peach (DS)
- The Godfather: The Game (Xbox)
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (PS2)
- Fight Night Round 3 (Xbox)
- Gran Turismo 4 (PS2)
- 24: The Game (PS2)
- Burnout Revenge (360)

I'm surprised Tetris isn't on the list as well, though I'm sure it's at least in the top 40.
MPH did pretty good considering it was released on the 20th.
And yay for US sales charts.

Only 2 DS games in the top 20? Damn. Well atleast there aren't any PSP games ;) jk.
Damn GOW is still selling that well? Fun game, but hell it's been out forever. I can beat it like twice in 1 day. It's too freaking short.

God of War became a greatest hit last month. I bought it because of that reason, and yea it's too short.

I believe these are based on money from sales. And if so, then considering that DS games cost nearly half of what 360 games cost, MPH and SPP sold pretty dang well.

I agree Princess Peach is a great game but man all those colours can give you a migraine or burn out your eyes in about 10 minutes!
They should have introduced the sunglasses like Super Mario Sunshine to dull the colours a bit ;-)

You waited until last month to get GOW? Where you been man ;) That game rocks. I still can't believe it is selling so well. A lot of games didn't make the list that won awards a few months ago. Nintendogs to name 1 (Not that I disagree with that.. the game is only fun for so long).

#5, it is organized by units sold.
Though it is only sales for March, and MP:H was released on the 20th. The only games released on or after that point were Oblivion, the Godfather and KH2. That means every other game on the list had more time to generate sales. It doesn't prove anything, but it does spark hope that the game could do better next month. (Although, most sales are generated in the first few weeks of a game's shelf life.)
Either way, I expect Brain Age and maybe Lost Magic to do pretty well next month.

This list is organized by units sold, but, if you look at the other charts, it's even funnier. NDS software sales trounced other software sales in revenue as well, which means people are really buying up these games. But I wonder if the margins are good....

#9 - nintendo is the only company posting profits (over 700 million this year). I would say the margins are great (microsoft lost 4 billion overall on the xbox)
