Bomberman online a go

Cubed3 is reporting that via Japanese website Rakuten, Bomberman Land DS has been
confirmed to release this year from Hudson Soft and will feature WiFi Connection implementation. There is little
else that can be gleamed from the news supposedly, but with E3 coming next week, hopefully we will have more to
report on then. Any kind of new multiplayer gametypes you'd like to see featured?
[Thanks Thrillho and Artimus!]

Hampster, you could've died years ago--did you miss out on one of the last great Dreamcast games, Bomberman Online?
(These days, there are quite a few other online Bomberman games, but I believe that one was the first.)

Multiplayer gametypes? How about all of them? This should be the be-all end-all Bomberman, no excuses.
Also, I'm looking forward to the return of the mic-enabled gametypes. In the first Bomberman DS you could, for example, yell into the DS mic to put up your bomb shield. It sounds like another horrible gimmick, but it was actually a ton of fun.

This ought to take me back to the days of playing with my brothers, but with randomers instead.

Hey, first post, long time reader. (Man, is that a cliche these days?)
Just letting you guys know what the Rakuten website says about the game apart from the WiFi bit.
"Everything can now be controlled by the stylus! (Land Mode for 1 player)
A series first! Versus Attractions now in multiplayer! (Attractions Mode for 1 - 4 players)
The Attractions in Land mode can be played with 4 players through Downloadplay.
Battle mode for up to 8 players with only one cartridge needed!"
I have no idea what Land Mode and Attractions Mode are - seeing as though Land Mode is for 1 player, possibly one of those 2d Bomberman platformers? Didn't they have a couple of those on GBA a long time ago? Attractions could be mini-games, maybe...
Of note is that it's supposed to be coming out July 20, but no listing on the Hudsonsoft website yet...and Rakuten seemed a bit untrustworthy as a site - seems to be some sort of cheap/second-hand online store specialising in everything, not just games.
Guess we'll have to wait til E3!
Keep up the good work, guys!

I really don't care about any gametype other than the usual deathmatch. Tag and story mode are mostly throwaways. As long as it still has the traditional features ("bad bomber" spacecraft, Rooeys, the "fixed" powerups set, etc.) I'll be happy.
Yes, assuming "land" mode is the standard single-player conquer-the-zones concept "attractions" must surely be the victory minigames (bowling, soccer, roulette, etc.) Considering how well multiplayer filler games worked in the past like in The Simpsons Arcade Game this sounds very exciting indeed.

I loved the multiplayer part of the first Bomberman DS. What I'd like to see them improve is the singleplayer action.

Damn. It seems like I'm more excited for DS games these days than any other console, even the Wii. I love my 360, don't get me wrong, but the DS is pumping out great games left and right (of course it doesn't hurt that I can get two DS games for the price of one 360 game). I mean *look*:
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
New Super Mario Bros.
Bomberman Land
Not to mention what's already come out in the last few months. I *loves* my DS. Can't wait for the Lite either.
