I know this isnt slashdot but...
I for one welcome or new Robotic DS Overlords...
With that outta the way, I'm left here to think about how to build my own remote-controller (by DS) robot.

Now all we need is a PSP robot and they can fight to the death! All the DS has to do is knock the PSP over when it's loading the dropkick. =D

Not to sound like a hater, but what the hell was that? It looked like the Wright Brothers plane after crashing into a Radio Shack. All that video showed us was that there's a thing on wheels that holds a DSPhat, can spin in circles and has a KITT/Cylon-inspired LED array on the front of it.
I don't see how it's reliant on the DS and I don't see how this thing is useful.
If maybe it could just go, I don't know, forward.

James: There IS an external remote.
If you look at the video closely, the guy enters download play, and downloads the file sent by the PC, which is a Server.
There is a client that sends data to the DS Server, then the server interprets this data into robot movements.
Thats all for today's robotic class. Join me tomorrow, when I'll talk about world domination and pizza. ;)

Nushio, I looked at the video but couldn't make anything that detailed out thanks to the video's close-ups being so out of focus. I don't even know how you worked all that out from the video since there was no sound (at least for me there was no sound) and he could have been tapping on anything.

I am with ThePete with this one. Wow the ds turned one wheel that cuased it to spin in place. Which I bet $1000 was being controled by a remote anyways.
