- The battery isn't necessarily all Nintendo cracked it up to be. You'll only get around 6 to 7 hours on the brightest setting, though that can be significantly lengthened by lowering the veritable solar flare coming from your gaming device.
- Dead pixels appear to be a problem, so be sure to check your unit before messing with it too much.
- The outer coating is surprisingly scratch-resistant, despite the fingerprint-showing gloss. Good for sliding into your pocket.
- It's sexiness rating is somewhere on the level of a young Catherine Zeta-Jones. That's REALLY sexy.

To be honest 6 or 7 hours is all I EVER got on the 2 different DS's I have owned regardless of what game I was playing, and yes I have played several games for 6+ hours straight starting with a full charge until my battery light came on so I pretty much know that it was the limit on both of my DS's. To be fair I never let it completely die because I didn't want to lose anything so I always plug it in when the red light comes on.
(Kirby CC, Castlevania DS, Meteos, Metroid(single player with lots of breaks to rest my hands) and NSMB are some games that I have played for 6 or more hours in a row (except with piss breaks or maybe to eat or what not))
I've never gotten more than 8 hours out of a battery without having to plug it in.
To me 6 or 7 hours at full brightness sounds awesome. That's a pretty decent battery upgrade.

I got mine yesterday and noticed today that a pixel was malfunctioning. It appears red when it should be blue; most other colors seemed to be rendered fine. Zombie pixel?

Surely that was a JFK reference? How many people remember where they were when they first saw Numan being shot?

I had a dead pixel problem with my Phat(swapped it immediately). Odds are I'll have to return the first Lite I pick up as well. That's disheartening as i was about to go grab one at lunch.

if i recall mintenod states you get 19 hours based on the lowest brightness level..
and they do have a disclaimer that states that the battery charge is dependant on certain conditions the ds is in, , what lwevel of brightness, what tempature is the environment around it etc...

In case anyone doesn't know this ... I went to GameCrazy today and they gave me a $70 trade-in on my DS Phat. So I was able to get a DS Lite for $60. Not too bad. :-)

Yeah, the Nintendo DS Lite website tells me that they expect 5-8 hours of gameplay at the brightest setting, and 15-19 on the lowest. I still doubt I'd need that much.
Although I have a trauma from when I was younger and had the big Game Boy brick, and was playing Super Mario on it. When I had gotten to the final level, the colours (well, black pixels really, because black was the only colour there was) started to fade. And of course back then, there was no saving.
