Recent scans from the Japanese magazine Coro Coro have revealed a few new game details on the mysterious Pokemon: Diamond and Pokemon: Pearl. Among the translated information is the return of the day/night system, with four distinct periods (dawn, day, dusk, and night) that will affect Pokemon behavior and appearance. In addition, male and female characters will now look different in-game; one of the genders might be larger, be missing certain features, or have different skin patterns. The traditional Pokedex will also be upgraded to include more than twenty features, including time management, type charts, monitoring of Pokemon in the breeding center, and more. The Pokemon games have no confirmed release date in North America, but it shouldn't be too long before the market drops ten gajillion dollars on this tried-and-true franchise.
[Thanks Nushio, you tip-crazy fiend you]
[Update 1: clarified unknown N. American release date]

Its an obsessive problem I have.
I see new info, I must let the world know.
If it really bothers ya I wont tip you off on new Rockman ZX (and possibly Rockman.Exe) info. Or Mario Hoops 3 vs 3.
The release date for the Japanese Pokémon is on September 26th. Tentatively, if it doesnt get delayed yet again.

This is looking good, much more like what made Pokémon Gold and Silver so damn good (and where Ruby and Sapphire failed to pick up.)
Thank god for day and night again.

Yeah Ruby and Saphire wasn't the best. However it was extremely easy. In one day I beat the entire game, which was a great let down. I was hoping that the game would last me at least a few weeks.
I hope this game is easy, but not the "beat-in-one-day" kind of easy.

Something i've noticed about the pokemon games, is that they're running out of colors. First it was Red, and Blue. Then came yellow. Then Gold and Silver appeared. Then Ruby and Saphire. Then Emerald came (but went down hill cuz it wasn't too well known). And now Pearl and Diamond?
They've ditched the colors and went for jewels/precious metals.

With the nintendo DS calender system shudnt they also implement a seasonal system aswell? Like snow in December could beef up your ice attacks, now that would be a nice imporvement towards the gameplay.

I think Diamond and Pearl should utilize 3D graphics in battles, like Pokemon Stadium. Why waste the power of the DS?
