Hunters Hax

Heheheh.
While the DS homebrew and hacking community doesn't quite hold a candle to the PSP's, there are still many a soul who live to exploit Nintendo's wonderful hardware. While many have managed to perform "good" by enabling things such as emulators and voice chat, there are those who would do malicious evil. This is one of those cases.

A hacker named Legacy has released an application that grants players in Metroid Prime: Hunters access to several cheats, including infinite energy, infinite ammo, and levitation. Worst of all, these capabilities are also accessible in official Wi-Fi matches; before long, you may see a few of these cheats yourself. Tsk tsk, Legacy. Got rocked a few times too many?

Meh, Parasyte did this first (for and by himself, with no intent to release it to the public)

I just emailed Nintendo and told them I aint touching online play until some action has been taking.

As a homebrewster and MPH player, I could go around and take the advantage to get some points (I'd settle with fixing my 99.9% connection rate back to 100%), but I aint messing with MPH.

Its people like Legacy that make homebrew look bad...

How would a cheat like levitation work? Would you just float above the ground and move faster?

This is why I don't play online anymore. First I just wasn't a good player, but now this is just unfair! I have two options,

1)learn and exploit these cheats
2)sell the game seeing as how it's doing me no good.

I'm going for the latter. Thanks for ruining Nintendo's franchise Legacy.(sarcasim over)

I've never met the kind of person that thinks winning multiplayer games with a completely unfair advantage is fun... and I feel like if I did I'd want to punch them in the face.

This won't drive me to stop playing hunters, but now when I die I'll always have that suspicion... is it still a fair game?

For me, personally, it's never been a fair game. Even before the hack, I'd be paired up with 3, 4, or 5 star players. And I'm only a 1 star seeing as how I'm just a casual gamer.

I guess if I'm gonna play hardball, I gotta be ready to get hit or (in my case) have internal bleeding.

This is the reason I prefer to play my games on Xbox Live. You get what you pay for...you may get the occasional cheater on Live but if the players in the room report them, they run the risk of being banned. You can't get that on Wifi...no monitoring.

I love my DS but this is going to be a big problem for those that want to play Wifi.

People will always find enjoyment in cheating. They're the kinds of people that get owned all the time, and there's no other way except for cheating.

You see it on many PC online games. You know they're hacking, but like that picture above, they completely deny it because everytime they cheat, they die a little inside. They just don't want to admit it. That's why the last online PC game I played was StarCraft BroodWar lolz.

A lot of DS games lately barely are fun online, especially the ones where people exploit crap like Mario Kart DS. All I see now is people who use Dry Bones with the Tank. That's it. One time I had an all Dry Bones match. It gets really boring.

I suppose that it must be hard for you when you lose all of your matches -_-. Get better and stop whining.

mrk,

Not everyone CAN get better, especially with cheaters playing against you. Think buddy, no amount of practice can help you out when the other guy you're playing has basically re-written the code for the game.

But for Mario Kart, not everyone can learn to drift (snake). Some people actually have lives instead of being locked in their room playing MKDS for hours on end. Some people actually like the sun shine. Some like the outdoors. Some people have girlfriends or boyfriends that they'd rather be with.

So before you assume that someone can't get better, maybe it's because they are actually enjoying life. Now turn off your computer, drop your DS, and get a life (or a girlfriend, whatever suits you).

I think hackers and cheaters are sneaky little cowards. They get high ranks for cheating. That's way in certain matches I've had I've been whooping a rank 4 and 5 star before.Until we went to levels that had glitches. But ya' know what?I don't care!Bring it on cheaters!I'll fight you!Fair and square!Even if you use glitches! And hackers?Don't hack into games! It ruins it for everyone!Nintendo will do something about you cheaters! And hackers keep messing up wi-fi,they keep causing error codes! And I report it to noa and they fix the problem!Everyone has had these problems! It's all because of hacking!Well, don't you hackers realize when we get error copdes from wi-fi from you hackers that's actually an internal problem caused? You'll get yours! And people who've had this problem, ask nintendo NOA to fix it.But your wi-fi liscenes has to be linked to your my nintendo account, and linked to nintendo wifi .com official site. And one last thing.Anyone want to be my friend in Metroid?
Hunter name:Jkuraah

That's unfortunate. I've not played the DS online in a while, but now I don't think I'll even bother.

This is what sucks about free online services. The modders/hackers just take over. I've not played any PSP game online, but I'm sure there would be the same share of problems. Even XBL has had problems, but at least they can mostly regulate it if they want.

Maybe when I get my DS lite I won't care and I'll play anyway.

Mrk, I'll have you know that I'm a snake bastard too. I wasn't a n00b when I saw that everyone can't have a little variety. I wasn't a n00b when I saw that people use Dry Bones with the tank all the time. I can win against them if I use Dry Bones, and I've won against a couple of them with another character.

Don't tell me to get better when you have no idea how my experiences are online. I just hate losers who can't use different characters. And since we're mudslinging now, I wouldn't be surprised if you're one of those losers.

Don't blame everyone for using characters like Dry Bone and Yoshi with the tank or egg 1 all the time. Blame it on Nintendo for not creating an online environment that included advantages for using heavy karts.
