More Final Fantasy characters in Mario Hoops

We already know of the Moogle making the cut in Mario Hoops: 3 on 3, but what we didn't know was that several other characters from the Final Fantasy universe would be making their way into the game. Nintendo's Japanese website not only lists the Moogle, but also shows a cactuar called Sabotender, Black Mage, White Mage, and Ninja as playable characters.

We hope they give Black Mage some sort of hadoken dunk...

It's good to see new faces in the Mario universe (but let's not make this a habit SquareEnix).

OMG!!! I love 8-bit Theatre. And at first, I was shrugging this game off, but if its Mario and FF Hoops I'm all over it. I also love the generic FF1 characters, it gives the game a "timeless" quality, and lets it somehow slide into the 8BT storyline.

The last time I got this excited for a Nintendo+Square production was when they released Super Mario RPG... and that ended up being mind-numbingly awesome. That game featured cameos from the Zelda and Final Fantasy universes... I say YES to these universes collapsing into each other.

Sabotender's not a name of a specific Cactaur - Sabotender's just the Japanese name for a Cactaur. (Or, if FFXI is to be believed, a species of Cactaur.)
