Turns out that Nintendo managed to not only convince bloggers and other gaming journalists of the capabilities of its upcoming Wii and incredible handheld DS Lite, but also that of the big publishers. EA, during their latest milling over numbers representing losses and gains for their Q1 business, said via conference call that they plan to ramp up production for the Wii and DS following the amazing show Nintendo had at this past E3.EA, as you may well now, has several titles on the horizon for both platforms, with the company promising 2 titles for the Wii launch (Madden 07 and Need For Speed: Carbon), along with Madden and FIFA installments heading to the DS within the next few months. Also, for the DS, EA will be bringing an expansion focusing around pet care to its popular Sims franchise.
Whether you're a big fan of EA or not, the more third-party support for Nintendo the better. Some of EA's franchises could work wonders on Nintendo's consoles, and some fresh content from EA on each of Nintendo's platforms wouldn't hurt either.

I like EA (albeit for NFS series. Nothing else)
I personally am looking forward to NFS Carbon for Wii and DS. Although, I am upset that they dropped Drag racing for Drift racing. I just hope that they took out Drag to make it better, and possibly make it the focus of the next NFS game (just like how Drift is the focus of Carbon).

Yes, cause they did such a bang up job on the DS versions of NFS: Most Wanted, NFS Underground, and Burnout.

^O.K. since you put it that way,
I personally am looking forward to NFS Carbon for Wii.
Excuse me for trying to show SOME racing love to my DS besides Mario Kart. Last i checked it was called "variety".
Besides, NFS Underground 2 is the highest rated racing game for the DS (besides Mario Kart).

^although I gotta agree that Most Wanted and Burnout for the DS IS CRAP, but only because they were rushed.
Underground 2 was delayed so that it would be good, and I'm expecting the same for Carbon on the DS.

Great, except for the fact that sports games are mindnumbingly boring.

So, EA is ramping up support, and so are several other developers. I just read something about Atari. A lot of the current Nintendo buzz seems to originate from their solid showing at E3. In fact, that is specifically cited in this and other posts. Which leaves me confused about why E3 was "downsized." Were the "other guys" mad cause Nintendo stole the show? The reason I don't get it, is because Nintendo has shown if you do E3 right, you stand to reap huge benefits. So you screwed it up one year. Why quit playing all together? Just do better next time.

suckerpunch5, I think a big reason why E3 was partially killed is because of Sony. They basically had a 3 hour presentation of nothing and they wasted everyone's time and their own money. They obviously didn't take their press conference seriously and it pissed the gaming world off to see that they're so out of touch with reality. If companies are just gonna treat their time in the spotlight like a joke, then the spotlight's going to be taken away.
