This isn't the first external battery we have seen for the DS Lite but it is the sexiest if we do say ourselves. Granted the designs are similar, but this one comes with a normal plug and a USB charger.
So we have established that the design is nice but one does wonder how much power this little gadget has. The pictures show it working along with a PSP and a camera. The site mentions the date August 19 as well. What do you think? Is this a must have accessory or DS Lite owners?

It reminds me quite a bit of my iPod Mini...
Sure looks cool, but the DS Lite's battery life is great enough that I can't imagine ever needing this, except maybe for people who travel on planes a lot.

Right... This is not a must have, one of the worst ideas for an accessory. The DS Lite battery has not been a problem for me. Even if you travel on planes a lot, the DS lite has 15-19 hours of battery life.

Looks nice to me. While the DS Lite battery life is pretty good, what happens when you leave it in standby overnight and forget to put in on a top-up charge when you get up in the morning? When it's off, the battery life on the DS is phenomenal, but in standby it seems to go a lot quicker than you'd expect.
Chances are you don't have a spare charger in work (erm, I mean school!) and then the dreaded orange light comes on just as you're halfway through a case in Phoenix Wright...
I like the idea that with this one you can stick the battery somewhere else, like a shirt pocket, without having the bulk of it attached to the console. It certainly looks a lot neater than some of the other ones I've seen, and it would be nice if you could accessorise it with mobile phone power adaptors too.
Going by size alone (and assuming it's L-ion, rather than NiMH), I would guess it extends the DSL's on-time by another 200% by using a 2,000mAh battery pack.
The real test will be how long it takes to recharge it (and, of course, the price). Hope to see more details on this popping up somewhere...
