With the launch of Pokemon: Diamond/Pearl and its special edition DS Lite over in Japan, Famitsu has extensive coverage of both launches at several retailers. Foaming at the mouth like your mother at the idea of attending a Bruce Springsteen concert, Japanese gamers can't get enough of these special edition DS Lites, let alone another Pokemon game.
With the usually long lines and ecstatic Japanese consumers, you can find plenty more pictures of different retail outlets after the break.

Where can I get that hat?

Looks like over 2 million from unconfirmed reports. 2 million out of a 3.5 Million shipment for the week. Retailers are sold out all over Japan for the day.
As for hardware once again unconfirmed reports state over 500,000 DS lites were sold out of a weekly shipment of over 1 Million units.
Repeating in one week the DS will sell one fourth the Japanese life to date of the psp. In one week the DS lite in Japan alone will sell 1/16 of the psp lifetime to date worldwide.
Sony should wave a white flag in the portable war since the pokebomb has decimated Japan. The pokebomb will decimate other countries next year.
