During the period from the game's launch on Sunday to last Thursday, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have sold 813,237 and 762,029 respectively. That makes for a total of 1,575,266 copies sold. While we're sure the bundle pack might've helped jump the sales up a tad, we're fairly certain that over in the land of the rising fun, Pokemon are still in high demand.

It's a good, solid game series and one of the most highly anticipated titles for the DS since the DS's inception.

These sales figures seem to include only those games sold through Japanese bricks and mortar retail stores. Not certain at this point if it'd include the convenience stores (don't you just love a country where you can head down to the local 7-11 and pick up the latest releases on launch day?), and it doesn't appear to include the sales by online stores to both Japanese domestic and foreign customers.
So, if that 2 million (1 million each) figure we got on the first day is correct...there's potential there for a *lot* of people to have imported.

What about Pokemon Mystery Dungeon? I've been playing it every night, and it's fantastic. A handheld roguelike game!
