Reader greatslack wrote in to us explaining a little problem with his DS Lite. See, the touch-screen has kind of taken on this yellowish tint. In hitting the tubes to find others who documented this same problem, he stumbled upon this. The linked story does show a DS Lite unit with a noticeable tint, however we've never even heard of such a thing happening before.
Have any of you noticed a yellowish tint affect the touch-screen of your DS Lite?

I *did* notice a very very slight tint on my Lite, but I noticed it a couple months after purchasing it. I just assumed it was due to the touch screen itself...
I have to really look for it to notice it, though.

I've always noticed it, just thought it was normal I guess, but I don't have a DS lite, I have a DS Phat, and mine's been like that since I got it.

I can't really tell. Maybe the thin film of grease from constant use on my Enamel Navy's touchscreen is acting as both stylus lubricant and screen protector.

There are tons of accounts of this out there on the forums and other sites. Even IGN has an article covering this, among other problems with the DS Lite:

I have it to, but it doesn't bother me that much.

I have noticed the same thing with my white one (bought in North America). Thankfully my black pokemon one (imported from Japan) does not have this problem.
Was driving me nuts for a few days, but now I don't care anymore! :)

Yes, mine was yellow from day one. It's only noticeable on the health and safety warning screen, really - it's not easy to see on the main menu, and almost impossible to notice in-game.

WTF? it's NOT normal? balls, mine's been like that since day one, figured different type of screen inevitably meant slightly different display capabilities.
Never been a problem, but I want mine fixed anyway.

My DS Lite (dark blue, Japanese import) has a yellowish touch screen, but it's only noticable during the 'WARNING DO NOT PLAY IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO DIE OR SOMETHING' screens that you always get on boot up.

Mine IS yellow. It was a launch day DS Lite. Since it had a yellow screen and a dead pixel, I returned it to Nintendo and got back another unit... with a yellow screen. A friend of mine also had a yellow screen so I just assumed all of them were like that.

I had a Sony Clie (Palm device) way back in the day and the first one I had was VERY yellow. I replaced it with a new one that was white. Not sure what causes it, but it has to be something with touchscreen technology.

I have had this since I bought mine, you get used to it, and its not as bad as in that pic. But when comparing mine to my buddies who both bought at the same time, mine was noticably more yellow than his.

Mine has a very yellow-y tint, but I don't want to send it in, or use up my extended warranty.
