FFXII: Revenant Wings action shots

While we've seen some gameplay screens before from FFXII: Revenant Wings, some of these are at least bigger, if not better. High quality shots seem to be hard to come by, but Japanese print magazines have been the biggest resource thus far on this game. Once you accept a little graininess, however, these look pretty great. Check 'em out after the jump!

2. Cool, password system. Looks nice, but I'm getting FF III this weekend (my first FF game I ever bought) so that should keep me busy for a while, and then hopefully Wii next month.

3. Mmm, want want want.
These ARE predrawn backgrounds and not 3D polygon based environments, right?
They're looking very nice!

4. Now this is interesting, they seem to be mixing painted backdrops with polygonal elements in the background in some of those shots. Could we have underestimated the 3D capabilities of the DS? I mean, we KNOW it is equal to the venerable N64, but not the almighty PSP. Mind, of course, that using sprites for characters helps.

Good show, Squeenix. You are platform agnostic in the right way, in that each platform gets GOOD games that (we hope) play to its strengths.
