Now, we wouldn't do anything so childish as to rub this ad into the faces of our competition, but we will, however, make a post where you could comment and, in the process, make fun of them. It's OK, they never read this site anyway (we're pretty sure they can't read, which is why all the flashing colors and dumbed-down games on the PSP appeal to them so), so feel free to say why you hate the PSP.
For us? It's the battery life ... and lack of good games ... and basically everything else.

Nice job taking jabs at your PSPFanboy brothers and then taking a story from them, good show there. :D
Is it too hard to say that each handheld has its strengths and weaknesses? Personally, I don't like my DS as much because the games on it feel too cheap and dumbed down to be worth the price that is usually asked for them, especially since DS game prices hardly drop. Mario Kart DS is still $30 - $35 even though it's been out since last November.
That's not to say I don't enjoy my DS or the games on it, but that's simply how I feel about it. Because I do like my DS, it's why I come to this blog to read the news here.
Now to answer your question, why do I hate the PSP? I don't, but I do hate certain things about it. The over abundance of ported titles is one, though there are some that are welcome like Gitaroo Man Lives, Disgaea and Final Fantasy Tactics, and the lack of accessories stateside, like the camera and the GPS add-on. Other than that, it has a rich game library and is a fully-functional multimedia device, albeit with some irritating limitations on format support.
There are similar irritations with the DS as well. It's never dropping price of games has stopped me from purchasing many games that just aren't worth the full $30 or $35, especially when DS games tend to be a great deal shorter than PSP offerings because of the limited capacity of the DS cartridges. The lower quality graphics is a minute detail for me, since games aren't about the graphical achievements, but it does feel kinda cheap to see games not taking advantage of the hardware presented, like how the most recent Pokemon games still doesn't use more actively animated battles than its GBA kin.
Little nuances for both systems, but I like them both. This ad is obviously from a market perspective of course and DS Lites are the hottest selling hardware out there, beating out the Wii too, and telling people they can trade in these other handhelds make sense. It's not the best wording is all.

PSPfanboy can't really bring content like DSfanboy did. And DSfanboy is growing increasingly childish. Guess Joystiq is about the only blog left to bother reading gaming news on.

First of all, battery life? You've got to be kidding me, the DS Lite has HORRIBLE battery life when you've got the light brightness to a setting where you can actually see the games. Second, what are you, 5? Go back to kindergarten, little kids shouldn't be using the internet.

Now, now, there's no need to be so harsh. The battery life isn't that bad unless you're playing a graphically-intensive game, and there's a buch of good games for the PSP now. Not as many as the DS, but it's pretty decent.

The flashing colors and dumbed-down games. I'm sure Nintendogs and Super Mario Bros are the kings of logical games.
While your at it, go play the latest 48th pokemon rainbow game that came out for Nintendo.

I didn't really care for the DS Lite...I'll keep my "clunky" original.
The PSP tries to be too many things. And it doesn't do any of them well. My cell phone already does most of what the PSP is so proud of, so it's of little use to me. Even optimized, the PSP is too slow to load games, and it's cumbersome to carry around. If I wanted to play those kinds of games, I would just play them on the big screen via console.
My PSP and PS3 are probably the least played gaming devices I've ever owned. They just don't offer much in the gaming entertainment department.
We're due for a DS2 soon though. I've lost most of my interest in it since I obtained all the current generation consoles.

Seriously dude, this is fanboyism at it's worst. I strongly suggest that you think twice before making a post like this in the future. It makes you and DS Fanboy look childish.
@3
I got fed up with the fanboyism on the mainstream blogs and started my own. I'm not the only one either, check out Wordpress.com and search for gaming or just google for gaming blog and you'll be able to find half a dozen quality amature blogs.

I see nothing wrong with this. It is indeed fact that the PSP is shit, Nintendo bias or not.

I think a lot of you commentators are missing the obvious humor and light-hearted jabbing of this post, and instead taking it as some sort of obsessively serious fanboy call-to-arms. Lighten the f' up.

Yeah, the whole fanboy thing is bad when you start making derogatory comments about other products. It's cool to talk highly about the product that you like the best, but don't be negative. There's a lot of us that don't care and would like to have every kind of game system if we could afford it. I'd like to have a Playstation 3, a Nintendo Wii, and an X-Box 360.

The sad truth is, he is not joking.
Hes serious.
If hes joking, then he is making fun of the DS on a DS fansite? I don't think so.
Props to you using the term 'call-to-arms' made me lol there.
