Jeux-France got ahold of the latest issue of Nintendo Power, which confirms that Brothers in Arms is headed to the DS. We couldn't be happier, as the Brothers in Arms franchise is one of the very few WWII-based series of games left that are worth playing. The images of the game (which have been embedded past the post break) are of very low quality, so we cannot discern whether the graphics are something to be excited about or not.We can confirm, however, that the game is to feature 3 different campaigns, spanning 16 missions and several of the countries involved in the war. The touch-screen will be used for switching weapons, tossing grenades (player must draw a line for trajectory) and aiming at enemies. The top screen is obviously going to be used to present the action.
No word on whether this title is to be Wi-Fi Connect compatible or not.
[Thanks, Ken!]

I'll always keep some hope for games like this, but I think we're going to see another game that, to be honest, shouldn't be on the DS.
The DS doesn't have the power to do "realistic" 3D graphics. Making DS versions of a PC series which has always had quite nice eye candy is difficult. People want the same, or very similar, experience and the DS just cant handle that.

These graphics are really good for the DS. You can't honestly tell me that this game does not already look like a total blast. Personally I appreciate the high production values (read: well-implemented 3D) in DS games. If the game already has this much production value in it, I doubt the lack of polygons compared to the PC version would make it any less fun as its own game. Then again there are games that are all flash and I could be wrong. This game definitely makes it onto my 'To Buy' list.

if the DS can do N64 graphics then it should be able to do decent 3d.. at least of the level of goldeneye, perfect dark or turok 2.
The problem is that developers always try and cram in too much needless eyecandy instead of concentrating on the gameplay. (like the way turok 2 insisted on having Particle Effect Explosions just because it could.. even though they killed the framerate and didn't look better than sprite ones. )
But anyway.. more FPS games on the DS = sweet. They control so well on it that its been such a waste not having any...
