It would appear that, according to the DS Fanboy community at least, the Game Boy is officially dead. We can't remember the last GBA game we purchased or looked forward to, so we'd have to agree. This could bode well for thoseof us with the thrifty gamer's eye, however, as the GBA fades away, its games will be available in clearance bins in our local brick-and-mortar outlets and online sales. Now's the time to pick up some of those stellar GBA games we missed, wouldn't you say?

Indeed. Just minutes ago I was thinking I really need to pick up a copy of Minish Cap. And while I'm at it I still want to play the Golden Sun games.

Your memory doesn't go back to at least October 5th, 2006 I guess: http://www.dsfanboy.com/2006/10/05/final-fantasy-v-and-vi-trailer/

These two sentences are contradictory. If you weren't purchasing or looking forward to them, then you didn't really miss them, did you?

Which isn't to say that the Gameboy NAME is dead. I envision Nintendo's next portable to be some sort of hybrid; a dual-screened, Gameboy-emblazoned, masturbatory aiding, flying machine.
And it will be backwards compatible with GBA carts. It has to be!

I've decided that for the next few months, I'm only buying old GBA and GC games. It'll bulk up my collection with good stuff that's cheap. There can never be enough good games.

I'm trying to get a copy of Mario and Luigi but even pre-owned it is VERY scarce!

I believe the last GBA game I was looking forward to was Minish Cap. I love Final Fantasy, but I don't need any more overpriced remakes. (Hopefully they'll show up on the Wii VC for $5-10 versus the $30-35 GBA carts.)

Officially dead by the community? I guess 32% of the community, who disagree, are also -dead- when making such rash judgements.
