Which titles and how many are as of yet unknown ... the information seemed to just slip right out of Wada-san's vocal cords ... but we'd imagine a compilation similar to Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls. Also, while not officially confirmed for the DS, we can't really imagine these titles going anywhere else. Does this news excite you guys, or are the old-school DQ titles just a bit too old-school?

Saying this excites me would be an understatement. Dragon Quest 1-6 on DS is pretty much a wet dream come true. They are my first and one true love in RPGs.

Having recently picked the the gameboy color comp. of 1 & 2, I would much rather see a remake in the style of FFIII.

how many times a week do you have to ask us if we like remakes and re-releases. isn't it obvious? YES! don't ask again!

OH, COME ON!! Doesn't anyone miss the days when Squaresoft had more creativity then marketing strategy. They've barely been trying to make truly great games lately.
Doesn't anyone realise what's happening here? You people ask:
- "Why isn't there a new Crono Trigger game?"
- "Why arn't they remaking FFVII?"
- "Why are the directors of the Mana series going off on such random tangents?"
- "Why won't they make a new Vagrent Story?"
You know why? It's because we keep buying the half-baked crap they release instead. They are a business and they have longevity in mind. They know excatly the things we really want. Square is sitting on at least a dozen "aces in the hole", and you can bet we won't be seeing any of them. Not until we stop buying the games they release while they're holding a royal flush.

this excites the crap out of me!!!!
i might be in a minority, but i love DQ much more than FF, and ANY remake for the DS is totally welcome. Of course it would be incredible if they did a 3D remake like FF3&4, but even a GBA port would be fine with me. I bet it'll be a year and a half at least before we see this released even in japan though...

Hyper C: That's the thing-- they're no longer Squaresoft, but Square Enix. As much as I've enjoyed some of the DQ and FF spinoffs. I'm with you on the new games thing. However, games are really expensive to make these days, and Enix was never as risky as Square was as far as creative development goes. It's a sad situation that Square Enix is just giving us more of the same, but it seems that it's what the majority of the fans want. Part of me hopes that either fans are wrong, or Square (Enix) will continue to pump out high-quality product (with the occassional misfire).
Me, I'll be sitting over here hoping that FFVII doesn't get remade, but that Front Mission 1st for the DS gets a localization...

Did we all forget how amazing the DQIII remake for Gameboy Color was? I'd say that -that- project was much more of a... quantum leap forward from the original than FFIII DS was from the NES game, content-wise. Something like that with Dragon Quest IV would give me a constant erection until the day I die.

Dragon Warrior I was one of the all-time greats. I will rebuy a DS (Lite this time) just for this game. I remember reading an article about an elderly man, who beat this game with no weapons equipped! God that's insane. I had a hard time with that game with the best weapons. (I modded my N-Gage, so I could play this game!)
5 out of 5....easy.
