A primary concern of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (or, at least, that of this blogger) is the incredibly rampant cheating. In the past, use of an Action Replay wasn't a horrible offense ... your team would be uber, and a couple of your personal friends might be a bit ticked, but that was all. These days, in the era of Wi-Fi, ridiculously impossible trades litter the GTS. What, you don't have a Level 100 shiny Palkia? Well, hmph, you can't have my Level 7 Munchlax, then. For honest players, or those that don't have access to hacking tools, such Pokemon would take days to train up and impossible luck/determination for one with shiny status. That's why we're happy that Nintendo is cracking down on some Action Replay users, specifically ones using the "All 493 Pokemon," "All Shiny," and "National-Dex" cheats. They will henceforth be banned from online barter.
Feel free to start a flamewar regarding the justification of cheating, by the way. We're pyros.

I think that it's a good idea to stop the cheating, but I'm a bit worried because someone traded me a level 100 Garchomp and some other pokemon that I'm going to have on my team and am going to use at an event coming up.

...ok hurray for Nintendo for taking action but.
specifically ones using the "All 493 Pokemon," "All Shiny," and "National-Dex" cheats.
#1. What's having all 493 Pokemon going to do battle-wise?
#2. Having shiny pokemon DOES not mean the pokemon is better.
#3. omg, I completed the National Dex, that means I can OHKO people.
Nintendo fails when it comes to banning the RIGHT codes. None of those codes will really effect the outcome of battles. What about.
Banning Altering Stats, Abilities, Learn any Moves codes? In my opinion, those are the codes they should be paying attention to, not those useless codes.

As a hacker, here are some tech comments on the issue:
1) There is NO such thing as a 'Nintendo ban'. I HAVE hacked Pokemon on a ROM of Diamond, both of which not good, and uploaded them to the GTS using secret algorithms I've figured out to stop Nintendo from detecting them. I've even tried (and failed) to upload Pokemon WITHOUT this precaution, and all that happened was WFC didn't accept them. No bans.
2) As has been said, Nintendo has no 'admin console' over Wifi. Buffalo might, because they own WFC, but I haven't been banned, and I've tried cheating in several games. I don't normally do it, but there are occasions when I get bored...
3) I DO hate the idiots that make unfair crap... for example, Lv. 10 Wurmples for Lv. 100 Dialgas? HECK, NO. Just don't respond to them.
4) The online battles aren't affected -- Battle Revolution is immune to even my hacking. All the hacked Pokemon I tried to transfer over came up as 'Bad EGG', Nintendo's cheat dispatcher since Ruby and Sapphire. On top of that, I've seen no hacked Pokemon on BR myself, and I've been in around 40 battles by now. (For the record, I only lost 1!)
My 2 cents. Don't hate me.

I don't know why the fuc nintendo is taking Action Replay so seriously. Also all rumors are true because I, have been banned from GTS. Luckily I still had my trusty Pearl so traded my pokemon over there. Unfotunately, some how the GTS can detect Action Replay pokemon. If you don't believe me and say it's just a rumor, WHY DON'T YOU THAT TO MY SAY THAT TO MY DIAMOND! NOW EVERYTIME I JUST GET PAST THE GTS LADY, IT SAY'S "Communication Error" I'M LIKE WTF! I HAVENT EVEN CONNECTED TO WI FI YET!
I know that Action Replay ban IS 100% TRUE! If you still don't believe me I have one more thing to say. I have never used Action Replay on my Pearl and I can go on GTS, no prob. So WTF is this communication error? Can't nintendo say it in our faces and say,"You have been banned for being an Action Replay user?

Personally, I don't think it's as bad. Cheaters are bad, yes, I must admit.
The whole point of game play is the "enjoyment", if you anti-cheaters have heard this word before. Who cares about hacked Pokemon anyway? It's JUST a game. In my opinion, Nintendo is making a big stink out of it for nothing. There will ALWAYS be a cheater that ruins the game for everybody, and that can't be changed by anybody, not even Nintendo.

Alright now I can understand about the whole overload of the gts but come on what about people like me who use action replay to get pokemon back from when our game and our ds fryed not to mention the countless years I have held on to the old games with my prized pokemon on them and lo and behold boom there all gone because my game fryed and I cant spend the countless hours working on the older games. on another note I see time and time again people in the chat room asking around if there is any pokemon that they desire and they give it to them no stipualtions...I'm one of those people because I know how hard the market is out there and I think that if this thing is true then its stupid and as what the other guy said they realy are targeting the wrong codes. like the catch trainers pokemon...humm from what I hear that can be used aginst other players. now thats stealing and wrong kids dont try that at home..(not that you would be able to take the time to type in the rediculious amounts of 1234567890 and abcdef it takes for a code like that to work.well i'm done with my rant.....
