DS Daily: Best this year

The year is half over, and while we've got some big guns yet to come, there are months of gaming behind us. Considering that, we figured it was about time we asked: what's the best DS game you picked up this year? It needn't have necessarily been released this year, but since the beginning of 2007, what newly acquired title has spent the most time in your machine?

We're guessing more than half the answers might start with "P" and end with "-okémon." But you know us -- we love a good adventure game.

2. Panel De Pokemon never came out on DS! Silly DS Fanboy.

3. I definitely had some mad love for Hotel Dusk myself, but I gotta say Ouendan 2 totally dominated my DS for a while. Also the lastest Phoenix Wright game (that came out this year didn't it?) kept itself in there for a good month while I slowly worked on it. I'd say I would have to pick between those. Probably Ouendan 2 for me.

5. Ouedan 2
Transformers
Brothers in Arms where all great, but I dunno what was the best...

6. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

I just finished it. Exactly the kind of game I like - more of the throwback side-scroll, hard but not too hard to pass. A very good game. I guess I should pick up Dawn of Sorrow now.

7. Pocket Monsters, I choose you!!!
Seriously, they are probably my favorite ds games.
Untill October 1st.

8. I would say right now, Brothers in Arms is pretty sweet. Nintendo Touch Golf also took up a lot of my time too, along with Yoshi's Island.

9. It's gotta be a tie for me,

EBA and Etrian Odyssey.

Now if they can only somehow shoehord Earth Wind and Fire into a dungeon crawler...

10. Of ones I've picked up this year, I have a few --

Picross DS, Ouendan 1 & 2, Pokémon, NSMB and Mario Kart DS would be on the top so far. EBA and Clubhouse Games would've made the list, but I got those for Christmas so they don't count :D

11. puzzle quest, by far.

12. Didn't realize how many DS games start with "P" until just now...

Posted at 1:26PM on Jul 3rd 2007 by Sarah

13. Certainly didn't come out this year, but around April, I found myself picking up Tao's Adventure for $10 just so I could ridicule its awfulness; after all, every major review site panned it.

To my surprise, I discovered it was a sequel to Azure Dreams, and an -amazing- one at that, and it's definitely my favorite purchase this year.

17. Phoenix Wright: AA:JFA

Brilliant final case, and I was ready to play more!

18. Oh, god. WHY DIDN'T I CHOOSE A PUZZLE QUEST IMAGE!? In the Pepsi challenge between that and Hotel Dusk, I don't know what I'd pick. It would be hard. Really, really hard.

Reading these comments really drives home how many great games we've had this year! DS fans are lucky.
