While we can honestly say we've never played the first Nanostray game, every bit of media that pops up for Nanostray 2 causes us to wonder if that was a mistake or not. And, you know, it makes us want to play Nanostray 2. The latest crop of screens show off the usual stuff: ships flying around and explosions. Thankfully, those are just the kind of things we look for in our screenshots.
So, be sure to hit up our gallery below for all of the latest screens.

Never played Nanostray? What? It came out in a time when the DS was without many good games.
Nanostray had great graphics, catchy music, and classic gameplay.
FOR SHAME MR. HINKLE!

It's a good game (the first one). Simple, classic gameplay with gorgeous graphics on the DS, and "hard" mode is RIDICULOUSLY hard.

Screw Nanostray 2. The original was pure gold (shame on you for missing it!), but I want Ikaruga DS.

Being a huge fan of the Shoot-em-up genre, I was excited to get my hands on the first Nanostray. While I definitely did enjoy it, I was frustrated by the way you can't shoot at the upper right and upper left extremities of the screen. Nevertheless, I was impressed by the graphics and the sounds. I'm still waiting for some sort of Gradius DS, Darius DS, or R-Type DS. Perhaps Nanostray 2 suffice in their absence.

*Ahem* I mean, "Perhaps Nanostray 2 WILL suffice in their absence." Sorry.
Is there any news about the "Raid Over the River" game that was in development a year or two ago?
And why didn't Darius R ever come to the US? Doesn't Taito know that we love shooting alien fish too???
