Well, call it a controlled explosion, kinda like a smart bomb -- but we're still pretty pleased to see some sweet new media from a brand new DS game. Er, mostly new, considering it's a franchise title. Still, Mario Party on the DS sounds like a winner, though we would prefer more than just local wireless play. Mario Party could only make Game Night that much more fun, amirite? Oh well, enough complaining -- check out the images in our gallery and the spankin' new trailer after the jump.

i hope they also add wi-fi play. that would really make the game great! also they need to go back to their roots, like in the first mario party games, but this looks really cool.

Yeah, i understand them leaving online play out of the console one, because local multiplayer is easily achieved with consoles, and Mario Party definitely errs towards that side
But leaving it out of the handhelds makes less sense

Definitely. I mean, pretty much everyone I know will happily sit down and play a little Mario Party, but not everyone I know owns a DS....

- Wow, looks very nice for a DS game.
- Anyways, I disagree somewhat about online. With the amount of time it takes to play the board game, I expect DCers. But, mini-games only online could work I guess in a voting system.

So long as the single-cart play isn't restricted in anyway, then the lack of online wifi isn't as big a blow as it could've been. but still, it would be rather rad.
