Duck Amuck is the best concept for a
minigame collection we've ever seen. It may also be the best concept for a licensed game we've ever seen. It's based on the classic 1951
Merrie Melodie, in which a malevolent animator (later revealed to be--SPOILER-- Bugs Bunny) jerks Daffy Duck around as the cartoon plays. Locations are changed, Daffy is frequently erased and redrawn, and his attempts to regain control of the cartoon are met with punishment.
The concept of "Daffy Duck being dropped into hilariously unfortunate circumstances at the hands of an animator" translates into a DS game well, since gamers are used to manipulating onscreen characters. DS gamers, in particular, are used to doing so with a pen.
We watched the trailers and looked at the screenshots, expecting to have our enthusiasm thoroughly dampened. But the screens actually look good, and the trailers are well-animated and
funny. What? Humor? In our video games?
Even though we're pretty sure it's all concept art and not real gameplay footage, we're already impressed. We're also inclined to support WayForward, our new favorite DS developer (pending playtime with
Contra 4.)
[Update: A producer at Warner Bros. Games wrote in to confirm that all of the footage is in-game, done with Flash!]

I saw this game at E3 and some videos on the web, what you see is ALL in game. I think it was done with flash animation, looks like a cartoon

The old Warner Bros. cartoons are great -- the humor totally holds up, and as a kid, I preferred them over the "modern" programming on Nickelodeon. My favorite shorts were always the more imaginative ones, particularly ones that involved humans, not just the fellow characters. This is such a great idea for a game!

I have the "opportunity" to interact with these strange creatures called kids every so often, and apparently, many of them don't even know who Bugs
Bunny and Daffy Duck are.
That shocks me.

My Goodness! I hope this will give justice to the classic, and not use alot of the stupid new animators idea of comedy! This was such a great cartoon, it will defently be added to my game list! And as for kids these days, they are retarded! They listen to whatever MTV says is cool, and Lord knows what kind of f-ed up world they will create...

Little kids don't know about them That's because there are 2, count 'em, 2 sources for old Warner Bros Cartoons
1. PAY for Boomerang (no matter how complete your Digital Cable or Satellite package, you still have to special order it)
or
2. Study the TV Guide severely to find a 1 hr session of them on Turner Classic Movies
