Yesterday, over on Wii Fanboy, we spent a little time discussing some of the best control schemes we've seen so far on the new console. We thought that today might be a good time to get the DS readers in on the action, since after all, the handheld has really brought a lot to the table. What games do you think have really made the best use of the touchscreen? How about the mic? Best games overall? No real rules or categories here -- just talk up what you've liked best about what the DS has to offer.

Elite Beat Agents. Such good gameplay I can listen to Madonna, Avril Lavigne, and Jessica Simpson songs. Thank goodness the covers are better than the originals. Really good solid connection to the circles especially with the rumble adding to it. Each hit creates a little sound and adds to the music.

I enjoyed yelling into the mic in Feel the Magic. I also really liked holding the DS sideways for Hotel Dusk.

I think the controls for starfox seem really smooth and natural. In fact, i'd go so far as to say they make the game that much more enjoyable.
I also think the same for the touch control in meteos and planet puzzle league. I can't help but think using button controls in these games would be highly tedious. But the touch control works a breeze.

Etrian Odyssey, great for two reasons. 1. The map making feature, very fun and great controls. Not to mention that it's totally necessary to make maps to have any chance at all in the game.
And 2. it's the the kind of epic dungeon hacking slog that the world hasn't seen since the late 80's. It's ridiculously hard and bigger than nearly every console dunhack released in the US. People to beat this game should be proud to know that they're the remnants of the quickly disappearing hardcore gamers.

Lost Magic. As unplayable it might be at times, I still likes the thing with touchscreen: arcane circle and drawing spells with stylus.
The Retro stuff like Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, I like the big - fitted to finger tipping - buttons in battles. (But rest of controls are really backward.)
Also, Metroid Prime I think uses touchscreen well. Just like WiiMote w/o WiiMote. And even before WiiMote. ^_^
Meteos was mentioned already. And I too second that the game wouldn't be any good without touchscreen control. (Check PSP analogs out - they are all only "passable".)
I can't say that there is outstanding game for touchscreen. Frankly, I'd say that as DS - portable system - concerned touchscreen-only games do suck since they are hardly portable. For example I can hardly play PuzzleQuest or Sudoku Grid Master while underway. Because hitting anything with stylus becomes nearly impossible. (Worst: PQ does penalize player for "wrong" moves.)
As touchscreen driven game, I would say that Metroid Prime and Meteos are the games I liked most.

I have to say I loved Advance Wars Dual Strike. It was much easier to do because of the extra screen giving you all the info, so it felt much more open than past Advance Wars games. I also love Star Fox Command because the touch screen controls work way better than the D-Pad. In fact, the Main reason that Time Ace failed in my eyes is because you *apparently* can't use the touch screen to control your planes. Also, being able to talk to friends over Wi-Fi during Pokemon Diamond battles is really nice. The quality is kind of fuzzy, but it's still really nice.

Yeah, Electroplankton was the game that made me buy a DS. And then another one. I'm such a sucker.

Feel The Magic and Rub Rabbits were good games that took full advantage of the control options presented by the DS. They provided a story and experience that was only made possible by the DS.
As much as I enjoy Phoenix Wright, the touch controls and Mic were not integral to the game.

Best use of mic is the hang glider minigame in Wario Ware.
