GAME FREAK amassing army of Ponyta

You now have the opportunity to get some virtual collectibles from Pokemon developers GAME FREAK, for the low, low cost of one Ponyta. Junichi Masuda, director of GAME FREAK, art director Ken Sugimori, and battle director Shigeki Morimoto have put 30 Psyducks each up for trade on Diamond and Pearl's Global Trade Station.

From the 19th to the 23rd, and from the 26th to the 30th, any Ponyta offered in trade for a Psyduck with no preference for gender or level may net you one of the developers' Psyducks. If you're a jerk and you want a Ponyta, now would be a good time to put your Psyducks up for trade. Jerk.

1. Wow, it's like they're trying to force everyone to start with Chimchar by taking the only other Fire-type in the first half of the game out of play.

Of course, that's not going to stop me from going for it.

2. I bet a bunch of aholes will start trading Ponytas for Psyducks just to foil everyone's attempt from getting a developer Psyduck.

3. Next promotion better be Mudkipz.

4. Quick Question: Where do you generate those images? I see them a lot, and I have always wondered were you can get them.

On Topic: I may have to go stock up on some Ponytas and Psyducks....

6. Hah, screw this. Every single time I input a Ponyta, the Psyduck I get has some sort of insult as a nickname. I don't feel like tainting my game cart with pokemon that are obviously 4channers and stoned teens that stole their little brother's DS for a few hours.

The irony of someone having to own a Pokemon game in order to be able to do this in the first place is delicious, though.

11. Sorry, I did indeed trade Psyducks for People's Ponytas. Of course; these were Psyducks traded to me for my Ponyta.

Please, I really want a Ken Sugimori Psyduck; not a Psyduck whose nickname is "Sugi" :

12. So, how do you identify if the psyduck you received is from the developers, and not a sham?

Posted at 9:08AM on Aug 23rd 2007 by ambient

13. @10

I don't go there, and consequently have no stake in its secrecy. I just know it's famous for the particular breed of troll it creates. When someone flames you by quoting a lame internet meme, you know where they spend most of their time.
