Earlier this week, we
asked you, our dear readers, to discuss games you'd like to see given a spit and a polish for the DS in this
age of remakes, and as usual, you came through in a big way. In fact, you gave us so many fantastic suggestions that we've decided to split our selected list into two polls instead of just doing one. We can't include everything suggested, obviously, but we've prepared a selection of bigger releases and more obscure titles, and we're going to let you vote every day, just in case you want to throw your support behind more than one game. Once you've voted, we will profile the top two results from each poll and examine exactly why they would be well-suited to our favorite handheld. So try to vote for the titles you think are the most suitable, those that would most benefit from the kind of treatment we're seeing with the
Dragon Quest and
Final Fantasy titles ... and hey, vote for the games you'd just like to see in portable form as well.
And if you just can't decide ... well, that's why we're letting you vote more than once! You can vote your heart
and your brain, and the cream will rise to the top.

Lunar: Silver Star Story is out on GBA. A DS version might be nice for FMV but I'd rather see Chrono Trigger on the DS. Or a wifi version of smash brothers.

If Chrono Trigger and Flashback both got remade on DS, I would have to go ahead and get my DS surgically attached to my body. It would save me the trouble of having to carry it everywhere, which is pretty much what I'd be doing.

Have you guys played Star Tropics? That game was amazing and, while I agree a CT remake with the 3D treatment would be epic, Star Tropics hasn't had any remake/rerelease love AT ALL. CT has been rereleased a number of times already.
Really just a tough call. How about both? :D

Oh, and just to be a bit differant, i voted Mario Paint instead of Chrono Trigger today. I think that it'd be a nice DS game.

Either my post was eaten or it's delaying in showing up, but...in case it does suddenly decide to appear, my now-plagiarist-looking ODDWORLD ODDWORLD ODDWORLD string was purely coincidental. I'm just glad to see someone else with fanatical love for the game.
PS1 bargain bins still exist? I feel like I'm missing out on something big. I'd love one, it's going to be freaking expensive to buy back the collection I sold off.

Before I say what I voted for, I want to make my opinion on something very clear. Although Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time, Nintendo is my favorite console maker, and the DS is my favorite console, I DO NOT WANT IT REMADE FOR THE DS.
A straight-up port would be great, maybe using the bottom screen for the menu. I would love that. I just really don't want it recreated in 3D for the DS. It's such a beautiful game that if it used the DS's 3D capabilities it would be a complete downgrade in the visuals.
Although I can assume many of you will hate me for saying this, I think a CT remake would be better suited for the PSP. I think that a 3D remake on that hardware would be great. Please don't kill me!
Anyway, I voted for Star Tropics, (great game), and Oddworld. Although it wasn't on the list of options, the game I would most like to see re-made for the DS is, *drum roll*, THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: LINK'S AWAKENING.
