A ninja's path is full of treasure chests, random encounters

Releasing later this month, Naruto: Path of the Ninja should be a promising title for those fans of the series and manga. Actually, it's probably a promising title for fans of the genre, as well. We've never seen an episode or read an issue of Naruto (GASP!), so we can't really comment further than we think the play mechanics look solid.
What say you?

Honestly, to me this looks absolutely horrible. Like a really basic and bland SNES RPG.

I can't say I'm particularly fond of the Cartoon Network version of Naruto, but as for the "straight from Japan" stuff, I'm a diehard junkie. It's a really great series, and I'm really hoping the game can live up to my expectations. I don't really know what to think from that video, as it didn't really show all that much. But maybe with a little luck it'll be good.

It's a GBA port.
Other than that it looks like a perfectly fine little RPG. The only thing about RPG's based on animes, is that you already know the story. I think Naruto has become a great anime (just don't watch the english dub, it's pretty awful) but where is the excitement in playing a role-playing game that follows the story of the anime I just watched no more than 1 year ago.
Oh well, as long as it's fun right?

The English version of Naruto sucks slightly more than the Japanese version.
*cue fans of crappy anime/manga to tell me why Naruto doesn't huff dong.*

Still bitter that there are people in the world that have different tastes than you?
I have nothing against it being a GBA port; in fact, there are still plenty of GBA games I'd pay for in DS form if they'd only get localized. It doesn't look like all that bad of an adaptation of the license, so count me interested once it reaches $20.

I used to watch Naruto (Japanese version), but now I don't have any time to spend watching it. I do watch Bleach sometimes. That's a mighty fine show, considering Naruto and Bleach are the only Anime I've ever watched.

Naruto in general started to COMPLETELY derail itself shortly after the point where Sasuke defected to Orochi Maru's little clique. The story was actually pretty fun to watch and kept things movin' pretty well with random interludes of missions in between major story segments. (Presumably to maintain some kind of realistic chronological demeanor in the story line to give them time to train and otherwise develop as characters.)
But once Sasuke defected...the story went BLAND. It became a freakin' circus. Nothing but the usual, over-exaggerated anime humor. I believe I quit watching it around episode 170. I can't STAND IT anymore. They completely lost site of the storyline! At that point it becomes just another freakin' dime-a-dozen anime.
Screw that.
I'll start watching it again if I ever hear that they get their heads out of their asses and pick back up on the pursuit of Sasuke. Naruto Shippuden is supposedly supposed to do that...although I have yet to see or hear any evidence that it has. I'll have to give the first season a try... But I don't have my hopes up.
Otherwise... This game looks kind of cool. But then again, it could just be another SNES-like RPG with the new gimmick of touch-sensitivity added... Nice concept on building chakra, though.
Whatever. :P
