With Contra 4 about to give us a heart attack, and Ninja Gaiden also on the way to make us doubt our ability to do things, we thought we'd ask you about the difficulty of currently-available DS games. There are some brutally hard games out there, and we're sure you've run into one of them. Some are difficult for not-so-great reasons, like control issues, but some are just hard. What's the most difficult game you've played on the DS? And did you enjoy it? Bonus points if the game isn't Trauma Center.

If you think that game has odd leaps of logic, you should play Sam & Max Hit the Road. You have to think in a very SPECIAL way to beat that game! >:)
The hardest game I've played has been Trama Center, but that is mostly due to my malfunctioning DS. The bottom-right hand of my screen incorrectly detects touches (it is slightly off to the right of where you touch, getting further off the closer you get to the righthand side). Made that game impossible. I gave up after beating *SPOILER* the bomb level. ;) (Sorry Croove)
Other than that, I just finally played Hotel Dusk and must admit I got stumped in a couple places.

Ouendan is the hardest game on the DS. I can rarely get any letter higher than a B score, those spins in the first game were made to piss you off.

That's the story of almost every online game I've ever played. :P

whoever said canned heat on EBA, yup. they make you follow the hi-hats on the off beat right after following the vocals, pretty crazy leap right there.

FF3, Advance Wars DS (some of the later missions tested my ability to NOT throw my DS into a wall extensively),EBA on Hard Rock.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!... Ready Steady Go kicked my butt so many times, but the thing is I did managed to scrape by on Jumpin' Jack Flash on EBA Hard Rock mode. I guess O!T!O was just too hard..?

Because I am a dork:
Voice calculations in Brain Training.... the stroop test is poor at times but once you know to put the emphasis on the lue of blue you are set but voice calc.. Six six sIx SiX then it records it as a seven.
Mario Basketball - for me the steepest learning curve of any game I have played.

Am I the only person who didn't have a whole lot of trouble with Trauma Center?? Although the last surgery was ridiculously tough, but once I figured out the trick with using Healing Touch twice and stopping time I was able to beat it.
Right now I am completely stuck in the Fire Cave in FF3 - I have honestly been trying for months to beat Salamander and I just can't pull it off.
Also, believe it or not, I got completely stuck, frustrated and fed up with New Super Mario Bros. I actually got so ticked off that I traded it in for Trace Memory, which I expected to be as long and involved as Hotel Dusk...I beat it in one day. Grumble.

Lost Magic was crazy hard (I got stuck early on) and Trauma Center was also crazy hard (I never beat the X-missions)

Sorry, but I gotta say Trauma Center. I beat the game, and the first 2 X missions. I'd never felt so hardcore before.

Advance Wars DS did have a few INCREDIBLY challenging levels, but I went all the way through, and just a couple of months ago beat it again on Hard this time.
Trauma Center is very difficult indeed. And maybe I was doing something wrong, but I never could get the hang of Meteos, of all things. Ended up selling it.

I've never had much problems with any of the games listed. Trauma Centre was tricky, but not difficult. FF3 just required grinding, EBA was painfully easy (even on Hard Rock), but probably because I'd already played Ouendan to death by that point. I've never played much of Etrian Oddessey, so I don't know about that one, although it seemed fairly entertaining.
I'm going to say... Puyo Pop Fever (not the new one, the old one) on the "Hard Mode campaign", forgot the name. It's a fun puzzler, but the AI frickin' cheats and pulls off Godly chains without blinking, killing you instantly.

Trauma Centre has left my hand cramped and twitching many times. I still haven't killed that damn spider.
For the bonus points, I have to say Nano Stray is nasty. One friend that I let play it got mad at me for pointing out how old he was and how his "monkey-twitch-reflexes" we woefully inadequate.
