WRUP: Getting Demented edition

There is really only one game that came up on our radar of releases this week and it's none other than Dementium: The Ward. We like the survival-horror genre as it is, not to mention that this looks like the first engaging FPS game on the DS (not to say that Metroid Prime Hunters wasn't engaging, but the single-player was a bit lacking). We haven't a had a chance to pick the game up yet, but you can bet that we will be doing so immediately.

What about you all? Are you planning on picking up the game or are you playing something else?

Did anyone else find it just slightly humorous that right above the m rated logo it says "basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy this game."

I dont know maybe its me but really....bare with me and read my logic....anybody over 17 who buys this game hopefully can read(i know some cant but whatever) if they cant they will buy it anyway because they wont get refused at the counter, and they couldnt read the sentence that states they need to be able to read........so this text seems to be aimed towards 17+ parents who are considering buying it for their 16- kids........doesnt make sense to me...but whatever....just slightly funny!!

i got to play this game last night........and i find it awsome and hella scary.....i hope you readers have or will buy this game.....its worth it

I picked it up right away...

So far, I found it REALLY scary and even somehow disturbing (I'm at the infant ward area, really early in the game).

Renegade Kid did an amazing job with this title! To get you immersed in a game from a first-person perspective using the DS hardware is a true challenge. I found the experience more immersive even than playing Metroid Prime Hunters!

The negative issues I've read about Dementium (frustrating save system and short duration) cause me some hesitation, but I'm sure I'll buy it eventually, just because it's different.

Only two days ago did I finally buy Hotel Dusk, because I felt like I needed a change of pace. It's slow, but that's good; I was in the mood for slow.

The other day I broke out Super Mario World and played for a bit. God, that was such a great game. I wish they still made games like that, with long campaigns and imaginative gameplay. I appreciated New Super Mario Bros' retro feel, but not the retro length. It makes me want to just dive right into Breath Of Fire I and II again.

I'm not playing this one, but I just picked up Rythm and Notes. Boy does it ever suck. As a musician, I was hoping for some theory, actual notes on a staff, or something worthwhile. Unfortunately, it delivered on zero of these fronts.

AmishPhysicist: Aw, man, seriously? I'm sorry to hear that. It could have been worthwhile. I hate when good ideas are ruined by developers who don't know what the hell they're doing. Thanks for the warning, I'll be sure to stay far away.

I'm still working on Phantom Hourglass. It sucks not having as much time to play games lately...

I still haven't started Phoenix Wright, either. And I really do want to buy Dementium, but with Super Mario Galaxy coming out soon enough, I don't know when I'll squeeze in any time to play it.

Any info on a European release date? (I'm too lazy to import every game out there :P)

I got Dementium and on a TECHNICAL level...it kicks ass...there making the DS do things I never thought possibel.

The game is very derivitive, the game IS Doom 3 meets Silent Hill. So if you've played either of those...than you know what to expect gameplay wise.

Some genuine scares and creepiness though.
