The current buzz around the Cheap Ass Gamer community indicates that both GameStop and Electronics Boutique, the latter being a subsidiary of the former, are supposedly suspending the sale of new GBA games. Similar to how the two retailers recently converted their dusty GameCube stock, GBA titles that were previously marked as "new" are now considered "used" and are sold at used prices.While this seems like the perfect opportunity to fill in the gaps of our GBA collection without having to spend too much, we are a little worried that this changeover might prompt some stores to gut the new games, throwing away their boxes and manuals to free up rack space. That just ain't right!

Let me confirm, They are gutting the new games, throwing away the manual and boxes. (I saw them doing it!) As for "progress" I don't think the GBA is quite as dead as the Atari and ColecoVision.
If you don't want to sell anymore new GBA games, fine.. but don't throw away the manuals! (I like to keep the boxes too but they aren't as important as the manual.)

Yep, just picked up the new Spyro game. Took a while to find it, didn't know to look in the used section. All I received was the game, went back and asked about manual/box, and was told of this new 'policy'.

If I don't get a sealed box with the game/manual inside, I consider it "used" and definitely won't pay full price. In fact, I probably won't even buy it even with the discount.

The grand majority of people that get GBA games do not care at all about the case. Why? Probably because they are the FLIMSIEST game cases ever. I don't think it's much of a loss.
I work at GameStop. Our new Gameboy Advance went absolutely untouched. I cannot remember the last time somebody actually bought a new GBA game from our store. Nobody cared that they could get the games new, even when we had some of them as almost dirt cheap.

Its true. Just like how most GameStops should be changing all new Gamecube to used, I know the ones in my area have, all new GBA titles are being switched to used. Personally, I plan to take advantage of it. Cheaper ain't so bad.

I haven't touched a GBA game since I got my DS, and I suspect quite a few people are in my boat. The final nail in the coffin -- the classified ads at work just listed an SP *with games* for 15 bucks. I'm going to buy it as a GC link controller. Heh.

THE BEST PART OF GETTING A USED GAME IS THE MANUAL THAT'S JUST AWFUL :( I WISH THEY WOULDN'T DO THAT THEY SHOULD KEEP THE MANUALS IN A BOX SO WHEN A COSTOMER BUYS A USED GAME THEY CAN ASK 4 THE MANUAL INSTEAD OF BUYING THE WHOLE THING COMPLETLY NEW.
