It seems like a slightly different take on the card game idea, which could be refreshing. At very least, they seems to offer a new visual perspective, as opposed to other games where you only see close-up shots of the cards or monsters.

Finally a game where I can make all those inane Yu-Gi-Oh quotes like in America, green hair, and trap cards.

If you like card games, buy some goddamn cards. Its not like not like having a football sim game on your DS to replicate the experience because you don't want to spend hundreds of $$$ on equipment... I bet most of you anime/hentai nerds already have most of these card games in their physical form, anyway.
BTW, I play Pokemon Diamond once a day, so its not like I'm dissing you for being into this whole Japan-centric niche... I'm just saying that even from a Pokemon fan's perspective, you're pathetic for playing card-game-based video games.

@#3:
This message is to inform you that your recent flame attempt has FAILED.
Reason: Pokemon Diamond is essentially a kids' video game based upon a card game, thus rendering you also "pathetic", as you've termed it.

ikiryou, the Pokemon CCG is based on the video games. Everything Pokemon started with the games.
Also, this is way better than buying cards because I won't spend hundreds of dollars on it in the span of months for what is essentially the same experience minus cardboard in my hands and plus money in my wallet.

Read the title of the post. This isn't just a card game. This is a game of kids playing a game of kids playing a card game.

Deuz Augustine: thanks for the info -I always assumed it was the opposite, since the popularity of the Pokemon card game in my area has actually surpassed that of the video games. I've always been partial to Monster Hunter, but that's a different story for a different handheld.
