Judging by what got the most time in my DS this year...

1) Pokemon Diamond
2) Contra 4
3) Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

Lots of other great games, but those three kept me enthralled and spending most of my gaming time on the DS.

Zelda PH
Puzzle Quest

Those are probably the only two games I bought from this year. EBA 2, please.

Ugh at everyone saying Puzzle Quest.

Hated it.

Visuals: Atrociously ugly and unoriginal character design.
Sounds: 3 second clips looped poorly
Gameplay: Glitchy and cheap. Both the RPG and puzzle components old hat and uninspired.

It's an interesting concept very poorly executed.

I do agree with Pokemon, Zelda, and Picross, though. All fantastic in different ways. I also loved Sonic Rush Adventure and Worms Open Warfare 2.

Picross
Puzzle Quest (@26: I've found the "puzzle battle" element of the game amazing)
And, how can you all forget? ACE ATTORNEY 3 - PHOENIX WRIGHT - TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS.

Really, people.

Ah crikey, it cut off the rest of my post.

Anyways, my other nominations were:

Cooking Mama 2- More of the same and loving it! Yaye for good sequels!

LoZ: Phantom Hourglass - I get to draw on the map. 'Nuff said.

annnnd

Pokemon Pearl - I've logged more hours on this game than any other DS game, save for maybe Tetris DS. Thus far, I have 182 hours on Pokemon, and sadly, most of that was spent breeding Pokemon. Uggh.

And if anyone else nominates Planet Puzzle League I am going to cry until my eyes literally fall out of my head.

This was a great year for games on ANY platform! So, all the games mentioned deserve a "game of the year" award...

But, to narrow it down to the game that got me glued to my DS most of the year, I'll have to nominate:

Etrian Odyssey

as MY best game of the year!

Pokemon Pearl - I loved the game, but it gets old quickly when you have played them for the last decade or so.

Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations - How could so few people mention this? Easily a candidate for GotY.

Picross DS - I really liked this game too, but the puzzles got too difficult for me :P (especially Free Mode)

Brain AgeČ - I'm not sure if this is '07 or not, but this is one of the best games on DS yet.
