DS Daily: Gotta own 'em all

The DS has been around for three years and boasts quite a hefty games library. What does this mean in terms of your library, though? Specifically, how many DS games do you have? And, if you can remember, what was the first game that you owned for the handheld? If you had a Gameboy Advance, has your DS games library grown larger than that of your GBA's yet?

Give us some numbers, folks, and we'll give you a shiny quarter in return.*

*No, we won't.

I have 50ish games, its been a while sine I counted. My first game was Super Mario 64 along with my Phat, as well as the Metroid Prime Hunters demo. My latest game was Contra 4, which is unsuprisingly, extremely difficult. I also have 4 copies of Phantom Hourglass, 2 unopened, one in Japanese and one in Engish. I've also been through 3 DS systems, and I have a Zelda one (With one PH) unopened, but thats for a gift.

I'm weighing in at 27 games. I've had my DS for about a year, and I traded in about 4 DS games for the joy of being able to get different ones, lol.

I didn't actually own my first DS game, as it WAS my little brothers. However, upon finding out I'd gotten a DS for Christmas, he immediately dug out the case, put the cartridge in it and said "Here, I know this is the only reason you wanted a DS and it's like, your favorite game. Merry Christmas."

That was Kirby: Canvas Curse. (He's 12, I seriously do NOT expect him to get me presents, let alone to hand me a game he saved up his allowance for to get for himself. Seriously, my brother rocks.)

I think the answer is 42, and I think that its more than I have for Gameboy Advance games, but I could be wrong.
For the first few months the DS served as a Pokemon Pinball machine, then I *think* my first game was Feel the Magic (awesome game btw)
Just got Bleach, and My Spanish Coach, for Christmas.

I came to the party late. I got a DS Lite during the 2006 Christmas season. My first games were Tetris DS and Advance Wars DS. I haven't bought alot of games after that. Now, thanks to Kmart, I got like 5 games in one months. Since Wii is scare, I think that number will go up more until I get one.

I own 38 DS games. I got the DS for Christmas launch year and the very first game I got was Super Mario 64 DS. It was a looooong drought, lol, so it was about half a year before I got the next game, which was Kirby: Canvas Curse. Then after that the games came rolling in! I buy everything I want most, though there are a handful of games I wouldn't mind picking up.

And yes it is bigger than my gba collection, I own just 23 gba games. Some of those were purchased when I had my DS, so my gba collection was small even before the DS.

I have exactly 60 DS games now thanks to Christmas, as I got Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. This had definitely surpassed my GBA collection.

At one point in time I had 150 DS games, I've recently dwiddled that down to about 50 titles as I had a fair amount of Junk or stuff I had bought just for the sake of having. With so many games, movies and CDs I wanted released this holiday season I decided to sell through alot of my collection for the time being. I may revisit some of what I sold in the future though. In terms of systems, I currently have an Enamel Navy DS lite from the japanese launch, an Electric Blue DS Phat signed by Reggie, Koji Kondo and Charles Martinet, and I have a Pokemon Center Yellow Pikachu DS lite on the way over from Japan.

In regards to the DS vs. GBA collection, at it's peak I had more DS games than GBA. At this point in time I'd have to say they're about even, although I honestly may have 10-15 more GBA titles but I haven't counted in quite some time.
