In essence, he's beaten Sierra to the punch. This isn't some quick port, either. The game is based on elements of different versions of the game according to sephiroth_FF7's own preference, while the graphics hew closely to the Master System version.
Of course, this raises the question of why someone would go to that much trouble to remake this game. But more importantly, why is Sierra going to even more trouble to do so commercially?

I fucking loved this game when I was younger. I only managed to beat it once a few years ago when I was older and more 1337, but it was cool nonetheless.

I remember playing this on the Apple IIe. Never beat it; I had no clue what I was doing. And because we had a monocrome monitor, it was especially hard and I had no clue there was even a bank in the game.

Maybe another ghostbusters movie is on the horizon?

I would love to see a commercial port of Descent 2 on the DS.
I know theres a homebrew but I think it could be a commercial gold hit! The only thing that can beat it would be a port of Forsaken on the DS with bot play.
