But here's the good: now that we've seen a little of the title, due to the box art having been scanned by a quick-thinking gamer who went in to preorder at GameStop, we'll say that it does look good. It sounds good. The DS version is a prequel that focuses on the origins of assassin Altaïr, and the game takes on a similar, though scaled-down, approach. Concerned that it might be more like the mobile version? Fear not, as Altaïr's Chronicles is not using the sprites and 2D design available on cell phones. If nothing else, it seems apparent that some care went into re-imagining the story for a stylus-based approach.
How does it look outside of a few tiny, scanned and grainy screens? We don't know yet. How will it look in motion? We're not sure. How will it play? Beyond stylus-based controls, we don't know that, either, but unless the release date changes, we'll soon find out. The game is currently slated for early February.
We are, we must admit, surprised that it's not a) a card game, b) mini-games, c) a rollicking pirate adventure, or d) a music simulator.

This game will suck.

I'm also going to make a prediction, This box art is fake. C'mon what kind of professional copy writer would use "Prequel to the console version" as a tag line. I work in the graphic design/advertising field and that just wouldn't cut it. Maybe something like "Prequel to the hit PS3/Xbox360 adventure" would do better.
Anyhow, this will probably prove to be some 15 year-old's afternoon photoshop project.

I actually bealive that this boxshot is real ... it suits Ubis stile in many ways :) The graphics are looking great ( from what I can tell ) , but I do hope that the gameplay will be good to ...
BTW : if it would be a Photoshop work , than I dont think gameplay pics would be put up ...

Assassins’ creed technically speaking is a mind blowing game but in a Normal View,Normal View Dun dun dun the game is so repetitive once you finished one Assassination congrats you have finish them all.
The story personally I believe it didn’t need the whole Sci-fi lemon twist but at least is original, I haven’t finished the game yet but is quite entertaining and is not as sucky as I first say it was, it actually gets better but it repeats itself for example you start with some lame stuff, then some investigation which is necessary I guess(quite dull because the investigation never changes I mean there aren’t new ways to investigate and that’s a waste considering Altair arachnid agility) and then it gets to the actual assassination which is pretty cool because those are the moments when the actual plot kicks in.
I’m still pissed about the whole publicity of the game, it supposed to be some hybrid between Prince of Persia and Hitman but there aren’t any Hitman elements there, is more like a Prince of Persia spin-off which is not bad in fact that’s good but is not the awesomeness it was first advertised.
I would buy a sequel but only if they cut the crap, for example the flags which have 3 purposes 1-Indirectly a way to explore the map and find new paths which can be useful for the actual assassination 2-It obligates the player to appreciate the work of the level designer and the whole team behind Assassins creed which is a snore because gamers want to kill something not admire a virtual scenery, yes it is a visual masterpiece but I just want to play.3-Give the player something to do but it totally fails on that because is even more boring than staring to the virtual scenery, I mean getting 90/100 flags is not hard but those 10 flags missing are b*tches and spending 2 hours finding 10 flags is not my idea of fun, I really don’t know why developers think forcing the player to search for tiny stupid stuff like orbs ,phone numbers etc in huge levels is a good idea, is boring and annoying.
Well to finish this text-wall Assassins’ creed is not bad but I won’t buy a sequel until they improve the game formula and the game is really not that good to buy a DS prequel specially one from Ubisoft. Maybe if they copy the Phantom Hourglass or something I might get the game someday when it is at 1,99$ and includes an ice cream….and a better game…and Belgium(Yahtzee reference FTW)

I think its a fake too. Those shot could easily have been made in Photoshop in about 10 mins, considering the overall image quality. And the font which says "Prequel to the console version" is called 'Sell Your Soul', and unless I'm very much mistaken, Big multi million dollar companies don't tend to use free fonts. either way, this ill probably be a mid range game score-wise, but it'll sell because it's Assassins Creed
