Well, Nintendo is, like, TOTALLY on your wavelength! The company has just teamed up with publisher Future to launch gaming magazine Girl Gamer in the UK, and it won't cost you a penny, meaning you can save for those divine shoes that you just have to have or you'll die.The 32-page magazine is being given away with the latest copies of Bliss and Mizz, two of the UK's most popular girl's titles, and is yet further evidence that Nintendo is completely in touch with female gamers. *shudder* I think I'm going to be violently ill.... I mean it! That man dressed like a girl form the 50's will be in my nightmares! This does look pitiful, but I can see how it's aimed at a younger audience. However, pertaining to mature women not caring about pink things, my Algebra teacher ( really fat, really ugly, treats us like we're little kids, tlks to us like we're little kids, etc) loves anything and everything pink. She's got a pink iPod, pink posters, pink clothes for pretty much anything, pink makeup, and she wears tight pink sweaters. And she's fat. So, these two (wo)men will be haunting my nightmares. Thanks a lot, DS Fanboy. Glad you guys care about my sanity.

Another girl gamer here.
No matter what age group this is supposedly aimed at (whatever that thing is on the cover looks like its middle aged,) it's still disturbing and offensive. When I was a kid, I wasn't squealing over babies and cooking. If I was a tween now, I would think this magazine was for my mother.
I hope this things gets flushed down the toilet, because it's a piece of VAPID SHIT. c:

Aimed for girls under the age of ten? Still don't think that'll cut it. Most of my friend's daughters are Smash Bros. junkies. The 8yr old girl of a close friend of mine is a huge Nintendo fan and even liked the pink DS (but got a PSP instead), but even she would gag at this.

So we should be training 8 year olds to wear makeup and think babies and cooking are cool? Count me out.... Anyway I was a fanatic gamer since I could even think and I would have happily lit this thing on fire when I was a little girl.

ok this is aimed at younger girls shur but im studying to be a graphic designer that this...this is just portrayed in an insulting manner. its insults the intelligence and the view of younger women if i read this when i was younger.. id wonder y the hell they were speaking like this, and id wonder if everyone thinks we're bubble heads. its poor. so yes ur right, it is aimed at younger girls but its aimed in a bad light
i love games myself, im as girly as they come, and i agree with the idea of a female gamers magazine but we'r a little more in depth then pink things and babies.
... and that girl of the front cover look like a freakin witch! gezz maybe they should get a legitimate makeup artist

Apparently this new magazine is just like most household appliances: Designed for women, but created by men who have no idea what the hell they're doing.

It looks more like Nintendo are trying to cater for a larger audience like they did with the Wii. I know girls who are into this sort of thing and its an attempt at dragging them in. I never said its a good idea but i am semi curious to what else is in it and at least its a freebee. I miss the days of N64 Gamer personally. That mag rocked!

Seriously though...did they think this through. I mean most girl gamers that I know don't really care if it is cute and cuddly, pink, or has to do with babiez. This seems like it will be marketed to a stereotype.
How many Cooking Mama articles and Nintendog SC's are there going to be o_O
If I were in the UK I would get every single issue they ever print just so that I could sit there and laugh myself into a coma...and then probably be beat up by all the girls that don't think it's funny :D

there are loads of smart girls, and this is pandering. However I have to say a portion of girls like pink and are obsessed with babies. Similar to how a portion of guys like football and fighting. This portion of the population is known as the idiots, they make up a large portion of the population. Let Nintendo pander away.

... Can I kill whoever came up with this crap?
I am so SICK of the stupid girly girl stereotype being shoved in our faces!! Honestly, everytime we get a new little girl getting her first DS or game in our store, parents will come up to me and ask for suggestions... and ANYTHING I suggest is pushed aside the minute they see fricking Hannah Mon-suck and Disney/Barbie crap. D:< It's bad enough commercials and the media peddle this junk, but the parents always seem to try to reinforce it!
DX JESUS, MOM AND DAD. D:< Let little Susie get the damn Trauma Center or Phoenix Wright! Maybe she'll be a brain surgeon or attourney instead of a stupid, ditzy, brainwashed-blonde selling makeup for a living! DX God forbid she be able to support herself for a change instead of getting married to some rich putz. /:

Ok, first thing: Was it Halloween, when that picture was taken? Or is that poor girl not aware of how ridiculous she looks?
Second: I've been gaming for half my freaking life. My daddy got me Zelda when I was a little girl, not happy ponies and babies OMG. Young children are, believe it or not, impressionable, and if you shove pink and Barbies and housewifeishness at them as soon as they're old enough to accompany mommy and daddy to the store, that's what they're going to think they should like (and the same goes for trucks and guns and other such "boy" things). At the very least, kids should be given a chance to find what they like on their own - and if it happens to be Little Mermaid, whatever.
And now, I think I need to go put some holes in a few orcs.
