Would you ever buy a second DS, solely because you like the color? It sounds silly, but time and again this blogger has come close to shelling out for one of those Enamel Blue Lites that appeared exclusively in Japan, only to back down at the last minute. It may sound like a fairly ridiculous reason to purchase a second version of any gaming system, but then gamers aren't always rational people, and DSes are desirable and just about cheap enough to justify impulse purchases.
Of course, some of you might well be purchasing a second DS in the very near future, as the cobalt blue DS Lite hits U.S. stores today. If you are, tell us about it!

I wouldn't buy one just for another color. I may be a bit loose with keeping to budget but not that much! I have my first DS , a "phat" one, the red Mario Kart edition and I would never have bought a Lite unless that one bit the dust. However, in early December the hubby was showing a lot of interest in playing DS games so I bought a crimson and black one (not the bundle) for him. Color doesn't matter to him since he's color blind and he's kind to me cuz I LOVE red. Lately though he's not playing much so I'm using the Lite for everything except AC:WW, which I'm leaving in my DS phat and playing there. I did ask him if he wanted one of the cobalt/black Lites when we were in the store yesterday to get Prof. Layton but he said no. I kinda wished he'd said yes then I'd get to call the crimson/black one completely mine ;) So I bought a used Hotel Dusk, which I missed when it came out and really want to play.

I bought the Crimson and Black DS Lite Brain Age Pack the day it came out because of the color. I had/have the blue Nintendogs DS Phat and its touch screen has been acting up a bit so it was an upgrade. But technically, the crimson and black ds being released was the reason I finally broke down and bought a new DS.

This is going to be my third DS. Got the Phat grey one, Japanese Navy and now just got the Cobalt one.
I like the metallic specs finish to the Cobalt compared to the Navy

I have an Onyx DS Lite but I SOOOOOOOOOOO what this cobalt/black one. I'm actually tempted to get it and I've already convinced myself it's not really too much money.........not really. Well maybe, but not really really.
