Seeing Dragon Quest IV in the list just makes me anxious about the still unannounced US/EU release. :/
On another note, what exactly is the big draw for the PSP in Japan? I'm not putting the PSP down in any way I'm just curious what games are the big selling points in Japan. I've been thinking about getting one but there are enough DS games on the horizon so I don't really need another handheld just yet. :)

Japan is crazy about handhelds in general (including mobile phone gaming), probably because a lot of people face long commutes, and probably for cultural reasons as well.
As for games, the first that comes is mind is Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. The PSP took a huge boost once that came out, and hasn't really looked back since. Another game that I associate with success in Japan is Monster Hunter 2nd Portable, since the MH series is huge over there. I also think the slim redesign really helped.

Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 2nd Season is simply amazing. It is no wonder it helped boost DS sales. It is simply phenomenal, and ever since my copy arrived Tuesday I haven't been able to stop playing it.

Reading about all of the awesome games that are released in Japan but will never be here makes me sad. ;o;
I love dating sims but so few are available in English...

Considering Tokimeki is a fully voiced game, and the fact that it's one of the best selling games for girls in Japan, not a big surprise.
This really makes me want the buy the original PS2 version, haha.
