Lists: they're freaking well everywhere. Lists of the best games, of the worst games, of the worst boxart, of games to watch, of the best NES games, of the most kid-friendly games, lists of the greatest lists. But what's that? You want more lists? You're insane! But Famitsu hears you! The venerable Japanese publication just published its top games of 2007, based on the magazine's review scores, and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (the game that collects gongs and awards like they're going clean out of fashion) romped to top spot, thanks to its near-perfect 39/40 score.
The DS had other representatives in Famitsu's top 25, with Kousoku Card Battle: Card Hero (12th), Itadaki Street (21st), Gyakuten Saiban 4 (24th) and Final Fantasy IV (25th) all making their presence felt. Go past the break for the entire top 25, and join us in marveling at the Xbox 360 doing something right in Japan.

Zelda was the best of 07 from Famitsu's scores. Aww man that's awful. Zelda was so lame. It had GLARING flaws. Not little quirks but straight up flaws.
Other than that the list seems alright. I like how so many American and European style games are on the list. It's just ya know, japanese people don't buy them.

Recently found my copy and started to play again.
i was surprised I immediately found someone in multiplayer, and I finally got past one of the stupid Ocean King parts.

"marveling at the Xbox 360 doing something right in Japan." its hasn't done anything wrong the fact is Japaneses hate it just because its an American product regardless of how many great things there are about it

It's funny that this article popped up. I just beat Phantom Hourglass yesterday. I gotta say, I was a little letdown by the ending. The final boss sequence was boring and easy. Just a faceless monster that prior to the very last part of the last dungeon I had no interaction with. It's a shame, the rest of the game was pretty fun - although it was on par with most recent Zelda games in the series in that I had absolutely (other than a sense of completion) no reason to collect every heart container. The enemies barely hurt you, including the final boss.
The final dungeon presented no challenge since at that point I had the power to kill Phantoms; all I had to do was just blaze my way through a dungeon I had been through four times prior. There wasn’t even any additional dungeon after that, just some steps leading up the final boss. I thought “Oh, I get it, I’ll beat this guy, then he’ll give some speech about why he’s doing what he’s doing, we’ll fight again, then after that the REAL final battle will begin.” Nope. Just an easy fight that’s made longer by the fact that you have to traverse three flights of steps. The fight on the ship afterwards was slightly more challenging in that it took me an extra minute to figure out all I had to do was keep swiping at him with my sword and dodge after the third hit.
Blah. What a letdown. That whole end sequence seriously marred an otherwise great gaming experience.
