DS Daily: Give me my time back

Looking back at the DS games we've played so far this year, we're happy to say that we have yet to play a bad game. Sure, we don't get to play as much as you probably do, but to be almost 4 months in and not have played a single bad game is like a record. Hey, the DS does get better titles than any other console on average, however.
What about you all? Had a DS game disappoint so far this year? Have you been expecting something to be good, only to have your hopes dashed to the ground after playing it? Let us know!

Duck Amuck. I don't know if it was released this year or not, but that game has to be both the most disappointing and interesting game I've played in a while. If they'd just worked on those minigames it could have been so great.

Oh man, Scurge Hive. Of course, I got it when it was on sale [for $9.99!] so at least I didn't spend too much on it. The camera took some getting used to but overall the experience was pretty much "meh". I got to the second "world" or something before I traded it in.

The GBA version was actually considered by some to be a late masterpiece for the system. No one knows about it because it was immediately put in bargain bins generally populated by shovelware upon shipping and was thus nearly invisible in stores. I played through it and can attest to the smoothness of the controls, a problem-free camera (actually, this is because there is no camera in the GBA version as it's done in an unchangeable isometric view), and generally more pleasing 2D sprite graphics. It was polished in virtually every way possible. If you're ever willing to give the game a second chance, try and track down a GBA cart.

huh. well, i shall find and try the GBA version Kinderhook! also, you made me realize that the camera wasn't the issue in the DS game, it was the iso view [not really used to that].

Apollo Justice. Maybe people appreciate this series for the animation, the story and the quirky characters. I just didn't see a game in it...it was basically a Choose Your Own Adventure book without the choices.

Command and Destroy, released this year, was by far the worst DS game I have purchased EVAR. It tries to be an RTS and fails. After reading up on it, it appears that it was a GBA game that never made it out of the chute and was converted to play on the DS. That's been done well before (Phoenix Wright), but not here. And the big killer... you have to remember "mission codes" because it doesn't have a save game feature. There's no excuse for that. I'd be curious to see if anybody at DSFanboy does a full review of it and see what they think.

Shiren the Wanderer. Not because it's not fun and exciting when you're playing it, but dieing is the worst feeling, I sunk 9 hours into that game, went to try and rescue someone else and lost everything I had worked for.

But once you learn the ins and outs, it doesn't take as long to get back to where you were.

I'm a bit dissapointed with Days of Ruin thus far. I haven't played it much but the story has felt boring to me and the strategy seems a bit more simplistic than I normally expect from a Advance Wars game. They refined it, and made it better than Dual Strike, but they simplified it a bit too much too.

Trust me. The story gets better. Much better. And it gets a lot harder than any Advance wArs game before it, imo.
As for dissapointing DS games, I've played........Nothing. Nothing's dissapointed me this year, but I've only purchased DoR so far.

There's plenty of bad DS games btw. It's just that there's enough good titles that you never have to touch the bad ones.

Forgive me, I'm just something of a Shiren evangelist.

Sorry, was trying to follow up my earlier comment.
As to the main question, a friend brought me back some sort of Japanese RPG that was $5 when he was over there around Christmas. I can't say I spent much time on it though.

Lifesigns: Hospital Affairs.
After Trauma Center I was hoping for something with the same level of action, but a little more medical realism. What I got was a bad soap-opera/errand-runner with a surgery minigame. I can't believe I actually finished that game.
