While we're still far from being obsessed with Naruto, the latest DS game did manage to catch our eye. Even after giving it some play time at GDC, our very own JC wrote that he found it was "openly an attempt by D3 and Dream Factory to pretty up a disappointing Japanese Naruto game -- the surprising thing is that it worked.". Suffice to say, we're going to keep our eye on the next game.
And here it is, Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II. As you can tell from the trailer above, the game is polished. We don't have to tell you again that we're excited for this, do we? What do you all think?

Looks cool. Too bad it will be about 2 years before it comes to the United States, thanks to the moronic decision to dub all 100 filler episodes that take place between Naruto and Naruto Shippudden.

Yeah it's too bad. Although I can't enjoy the english dub at all. I also heard from a friend that shippoden wouldnt be comming to US ever? Is that a rumor or even been announced yet? Either way, yay for good naruto games, some of them are actually pretty fun. Shippoden is awesome too, so Im looking forward to this.

Your friend is wrong, it's definitely coming out here. The wait will be a long painful one though...
And I'm glad to see that you dislike the English version. I'm not a dub snob, but the American acting and voices for Naruto is tolerable at best. This series definitely needs to be watched with the original Japanese voice cast.

Pretty sure this is going to be better than the disappointment that was Naruto: Ninja Destiny.

Well im glad that shippoden will come to the US, but i just hope they use this time to change Naruto's voice actor, to a more mature sounding one. It doesnt help that it's a woman who is doing naruto's voice, but at least someone who doesnt sound like they have a frog in their throat. Although I think that the Japanese voice for naruto is also a woman....

Very true! The Japanese voice for Naruto is also a woman. Most young boys in cartoons in Japan and America are played by women because they have the vocal range to hit that pitch. The Naruto English dub is fine. There is nothing majorly wrong with it. The main cast is perfect but the supporting cast seems a little hit and miss.
As for the choice to show the filler episodes, well of course they'll show the filler episodes. Naruto is one of the most popular shows on Cartoon Network right now, of course they're going to air more episodes. More episodes mean more money from advertizers. And don't complain about the quality of the episodes turning children off because 1. They're really not that bad, 2. Kids don't care whether it's high art or not and 3. Naruto isn't that amazing anyways.
Naruto Shippudden has worse pacing than Dragon Ball Z. If anything will cause Naruto to lose ratings, it'll be going on to part II.

the pacing is bad, but i still love it. I love waiting for "what happens next" but it is very frustrating to see 40 flashbacks with no story advancement over 50 episodes. :( I'm just a naruto fanboy i guess.

Man those kids are pretty intense with multiplayer. The game does look promising, not to mention the DS needs more quality fighting games (yes I know there are RPG elements too).
