"What we sold last week on DS is what previously would have been sold in November – so hopefully retail will understand that it is presenting stock challenges for us," explains Nintendo's marketing director Dawn Paine. Yet the problem of keeping product out there on shelves is a problem for Nintendo at the moment, they couldn't be happier with the continued success. "But three years down the road from launch, the fact that our hardware sales are increasing is very pleasing." The one place you're still not allowed to have one, however, is prison.
Any of our UK readers notice the shops lacking DSes on their shelves?

I'm from the UK and have seen a few "DS out of stock", "DS back in stock" signs in shop windows (alongside the usual Wii ones).
You're spot-on with your image, the UK is certainly DS country. It has now sold 6 million units here. The population of the UK is 60 million, so that means one in every ten people in the UK has a DS! Amazing, especially when you consider it's still got years left to go. God knows how much it will end up selling here.

Yeah, there's always a shortage of DS's, especially the black Lite, hence my white version.
It really is surprising because I don't see many people playing their DS on the bus/tube/street corner like me. I guess I'm one of the few that actually goes out with their handheld.

I like how the map manages to show Leeds but completely miss out Weymouth, the most prolific city in the whole of [the south-east of the south-west of] England.
